This study mathematically concludes to save 3 lives from Covid, it costs 2 lives from the vaccine,
I'm not sure that is true. The study uses data from the Nederlands as a proxy for European data generally. The paper justifies this because the Dutch data has been cross-checked against CDC data and has been found to arrive at similar outcomes. But you and I have already discussed the fact that the CDC data, in relation to deaths following vaccination, does not establish a causal link between those deaths and the actual vaccination.
The paper then goes on to quote the verification process used by doctors (in relation to the data) but the process to which that refers is the overall adverse reaction data, so that muddies the water a bit and still doesn't negate the potential lack of a causal link.
I agree however that the risk/reward equation for individual younger people considering the vaccination is not currently as favourable as it is for older people.
On the other hand, the latest inter-generational report indicates that falling population will require younger people to shoulder an even greater debt burden than previously anticipated. So, perhaps from an overall societal viewpoint, recommencement of an immigration program, which is only likely following broad immunisation, will advantage younger people to a greater extent than it will older people.
Good points Tigger. I dont know the answer to the critical point of how closely the causality is associated with the data they are using, but this leads to something that does concern me.
As I've rabbitted on about many times here, the vaccines did not clear Phase 3 trials and were approved for use under the Emergency Use Authority (EUA). In all other vaccine and drug trials, the drug eventually goes through phase 4 testing in which ALL adverse reactions are required to be be reported, this is mandatory and sever adverse reactions (fatalities) will pause the phase 4 trials.
Under the EUA, not only have all have the vaccine manufacturers have been provided liability waivers but it is not mandatory to report adverse reactions, it is voluntary. As a consequence, there is no opportunity to collect meaningful information on the safety of the vaccines, you would almost suggest that this has been intentional.
Further to this, as of 1/5/2021 the CDC has stopped collecting data on all "breakthrough" cases of Covid where a vaccinated person contracts Covid. If a vaccinated person contracts Covid, they will only be counted if they die or are hospitalised.
From the CDC..*."As of May 1, 2021, CDC transitioned from monitoring all reported vaccine breakthrough cases to focus on identifying and investigating only hospitalized or fatal cases due to any cause. This shift will help maximize the quality of the data collected on cases of greatest clinical and public health importance."*

You seriously could not design a worse structure for collection of safety data for a vaccine, in the most important time ever for transparency and accountability. Its kinda like they have meant to do it?
