Why are health workers still unvaccinated?

Health comes under state. I'd love nothing more than have another opportunity to put the toe into Scomo but that's not his jurisdiction.

State / Feds .. they’re all useless tools

And is why I'm angry Annastacia at the moment ...just trying to take the heat off her own ass .....

It is madness that health workers and anyone involved in HQ is not vaccinated. I don't care for personal choice arguments. Find other work if you're not prepared to get it.

Last night on Q&A they had a 76 year old still working in aged care who'd repeatedly asked for the Pziser vaccine but can't get it for God knows what reason .....and under the new guidelines she won't be able to work because it is too risky for her to get AZ .......

Look I don't blame SCo Mo for making a bad call with the AZ ...but we should have been moving heaven and earth to get more Pziser .....

Agree. It made sense for Australia to chase the AZ vaccine because it could be made here. However, for a vaccine that has been rushed through for better want of a term, there should have been adequate stocks on hand of alternatives in case short and medium term issues were found through use of AZ.

Could have always on-sold or donated our stocks to our pacific neighbours if we didn't use them.

Surely we could have tried speaking with Biden .....we are allies alledgedly .....even if we'd gotten 1.5 million for the short term and agreed to take less in September

Maybe our early on success was actually our own downfall ...US /Pziser saw us not needing the vaccines as much as many other more highly populated countries with way bigger numbers

Made sense for vaccines to be sold to countries that were being ravaged by COVID, however if there was a window to purchase, we absolutely should have taken advantage.

Vaccines are federal and cannot be ordered directly by the states or territories.

To be cynical, this could be a blessing in disguise, after hearing that even vaccine inventors cry: stop it!

I don’t know where this is going to end up, but right now see vaccines as the the only way to get things back to being part of the world, rather than an insular outpost.

I was watching Wimbledon last night and they have full crowds and life is getting back to normal. We have gone from leading the world in our response to the outbreak to now being behind everyone else due to a failed vaccine rollout.


They still are getting an increase in cases, up to 25K a day, however the death rate is still flatlining. about 350K vaccines a day puts us to shame.

Scotty from Marketing did a wonderful job selling the AZ vaccine. wonder if he still gets his bonus?

Thing is even after vaccine the numbers are going to be high as it doesn't seem to prevent infection but lowers the severity of the illness.

Exactly right. You get sick but not severely and not hospitalised. So the death rates are excellent in England at the moment, there will be an increase due to roughly half the population being vaccinated, but far better than the last spike.

Being vaccinated also prevents long covid as well. That sounds truely terrible.

Death aside, this is a critical area that does not get the attention it deserves for mine. It may well end up being lifelong debilitating suffering for many of those affected.

Almost Chronic Fatigue, may be the reason it gets no coverage. It would be the worst thing I could imagine

and the long term effects of the vaccine?

they sell the vaccine saying its safe for pregnant women but not one study has been done to verify that claim.
what's to say that they child is born normal and develops something down the track, will that get linked to the vaccine roll out?

there's more to it than just blindly accepting the vaccine based on no reported issues from patients and manufacturers

I am NOT a medical doctor and Im not big noting myself, but Demps asked and I am qualified to have an opinion of the science surrounding this.

Yeah fair enough, I was curious to see what field is all. Was thinking about going to uni a while back and looking at medical science but it's just too hard to do now. That, and I earn more than what they earn anyway so it's not really worth the HECS debt.

That's basically what I've done, I am in a niche part of my sector also. Not many do what I do.
