whats the go with childcare? I'm still at work and my wife is working from home, childcare is outside the LGA and beyond the 5km radius, can we take him to daycare seeing as she is still working? or is working from home not classified as "working" so can't take him to daycare. we are both essential workers but she has opted to work from home as she is pregnant

yeah there's a lot of confusion about childcare if you're working from home. Would be a nightmare I imagine working from home with young kids, especially if you're doing lots of zoom type stuff.

it's day one today for her, we were under the 10km rule before and that was fine, i told her to take her ID and her essential worker letter with her and if she got pulled over to let them know
it's the usual day care facility and its literally 1km out of the radius and such a small time frame the chances of getting pulled over would be slim but definitely don't want to upset the cops/make it any harder for em enforcing this

If you look at the NSW police page or NSW government page on facebook with all the people saying they won't bow down to "totalitarian rule" and they " won't follow the rules" this lockdown will go for a long long time.

Punish those who don't obey

Good on Western Australia for continuing with a goal of zero covid.

They are showing up other governments who have failed, and who are trying to mask their failure by stating "you can't have zero with delta". Well Western Australia, and New Zealand, shows you can.

Zero new cases in Qld. today where we'd rather bow down to totalitarian rules than have our family and friends die.
We're strange that way.

The Bunnings one is interesting, I can see why it is important for it to be open.

I believe it should be Trade only.

If I have a tap go or something like that, I need to be able to purchase another.

I'll just add that I haven't been to Bunnings during this lockdown lol.

Call a plumber ..
All non trades should be banned from Bunnings period .

I don't like to pay for plumbers, just like I don't pay for painters.

House is looking sharp mate !

I don't like paying for anything. My house looks really sharp.

Probably a new build ..
Painters .. most trusted profession !

It's not new and it doesn't look sharp. Myself and my wife paint ourselves as well.

This is so bad. I feel so sorry for this family. I can't think of anything worse.

People think their politics or their will power or something is going to win the battle against a virus. It ain't happening people.

If Gladys had done a hard lock down of the Eastern Suburbs this would be over by now. 'We have to accept it' is an excuse for failure, failures that New Zealand and most other Australian states aren't making.

Dr Chant is very good.

Key points:-

1. Vaccination is going really really well. Keep it up.
2. She keeps going on about the 70+ low vaccination rate which is what kills me as well. It's crazy. It's honestly bonkers.
3. The lockdowns have worked. We would be in a much worse position than we are now.
4. You follow the rules and even if you get it you probably won't spread it.
5. I reckon Dr Chant is very much pushing the stricter lockdowns. I said this the other day as well. We need the rates down.

I'm not doubting a lockdown should have been implemented quicker. That is obvious now.

I guarantee you are wrong through long term though.

Some good advertising/promotion from around the Gold Coast.

Former NRL superstar, Tyrone Roberts.
