What lesser restrictions do the fully vaxxed get u reckon?

Depending upon case numbers when NSW reaches 80% fully vaccinated, I imagine it will be:
ability to travel anywhere within NSW;
access to pubs, clubs, hospitality venues, gyms etc;
access to cultural and sporting events;
priority for air travel;
capacity to work anywhere;
ability for international travel for certain countries;
have any covid infection they may contract managed as if it's a mild influenza and avoid hospitalisation and death; and

celebrate birthdays and family events with their fully-vaccinated familiy members.

These are just off the top of my head but I don't expect it will change the mind of the committed anti-vaxers and that's fine.

They can enjoy the fruits of living in a dark cupboard somewhere. All power to them.

It's really hard to know isn't it?

On the one hand, I can't imagine that restaurants, pubs etc are going to be too happy if they're asked to vet vaccination certificates.

They’re already supposed to be validating that you’ve ‘checked in’ using the QR code upon entry.

I already have my digital vaccination certificate on my phone, will take them 5 seconds to check.

Yeah I've got my digital certificate too.

I agree that the process of checking those certificates is not onerous. Not if customers are obligingly helpful. But there was a segment on ABC News tonight about Melbourne people slipping out to the regions for the weekends. When challenged by shopkeepers, (they are obliged to do so in Victoria) many became abusive and, in one case, did hundreds of dollars of malicious damage to the premises.

I'm not sure whether business owners want the responsibility of vetting the activities of a whole bunch of self-important sovereign citizens and rabid anti-vaxxers.

The Bunnings one is interesting, I can see why it is important for it to be open.

I believe it should be Trade only.

If I have a tap go or something like that, I need to be able to purchase another.

I'll just add that I haven't been to Bunnings during this lockdown lol.

Call a plumber ..
All non trades should be banned from Bunnings period .

I don't like to pay for plumbers, just like I don't pay for painters.

House is looking sharp mate !

I don't like paying for anything. My house looks really sharp.

Probably a new build ..
Painters .. most trusted profession !

It's not new and it doesn't look sharp. Myself and my wife paint ourselves as well.

Oh well .. can’t win em all

Body paint?

Yeah I do it all ..
special rates for fattys .. charge double ?

Well it does use more paint lol

Lots of prep as well ?

Yeah would go through a lot of spac filler.

Would most likely need to use body filler.

Some restrictions will be relaxed for vaccinated people in September.

How would they be able to tell if you have been vaccinated or not?

Probably upgrade of that Covidsafe app or Service NSW app for check-ins.

Not sure what happens if you forget your phone, run out of charge or don't have one.

I would imagine that everyone vaccinated will be given a plastic ID stating vaccination status .
As this will be a requirement for OS travel.

Why would that happen here when its not happening anywhere else? All of Europe and the US are travelling without vaccine passports.

My understanding is that EU and USA citizens can travel freely throughout Europe if they have a digital vaccination certificate. If not, they are subject to the quarantine requirements of each of the European nations that they travel to.

In Australia you can get a digital vaccination certificate by linking your medicare account to your mygov account and by downloading the medicare app to your phone (other more computer literate people on here will probably explain that better). The certificate is available a few days after your second injection.

The Australian certificate has no application at the moment, but you have to think that they had a purpose in mind when they created it.

One my best mates is currently in Venice with her daughter. She is unvaccinated. Jumped on a train in Budapest, spent a week in Vienna, then onto Venice, not a problem in the world.

Ok. I could be wrong.
There is some info in this article but it seems a bit vague
https://www.dw.com/en/what-are-the-covid-entry-rules-for-travelers-to-european-countries/a-58017284

In any event use of a digital passport system doesn't seem to be uniform in the EU (I thought it was)

Countries in the Schengen Zone literally walk over borders continually (or like my friends, via train) no idea how a vax passport is remotely practical in Europe.

If you want go to other countries via train or plane you need one. It's very practical actually. Same as America. I have family there and they cannot make international travel without one. Plus there's border checks nowm

What do they expect to gain from this? If anything shows how self minded they are.

I'm laughing but this kills me. Millions of deaths across the world. A situation that my parents have never lived through. The Delta strain has become the dominant strain and has caused an uptick in cases and deaths even in places with higher vaccination rates than we have within months. The Delta stain is now breaking out there. The health care system is already under stress.

People though go and protest about their rights.

I think the vaccine passport will be the new norm to go overseas one we hit a suitable percentage vaccinated.

My parents travel all the time and mum is already stating this.

Government need to guarantee freedom on vaccination or high number of vac otherwise whats the point

Not dying. Not overwhelming the health care system. Not getting really sick and ending up in ICU. Protecting your family. Not getting long COVID.

There are a lot of good reasons to get vaccinated.

They also shouldn't guarantee freedom. That isn't how it works. They have to manage this health crisis to somehow stop us ending up with COVID patients overwhelming the health system. That is a limiting factor.

My point about the limiting factor is part of the Doherty report. You should read it. The short version is that restrictions are required less and less as vaccination rates increase and hopefully if we get to 80% we never need to have lockdowns as strict as what we are in now.

They shouldn't guarantee freedom though. What does that even mean ? At what cost ?

Just got my 2nd AZ shot yesterday and have put my digital vaccination certificate on my phone via the Medicare Express Plus app while reading this thread.

Could be a nice little earner for the State Government with the recent price hike.

That is awesome, I look at my 8 year old and she is coming up on 2 years under restrictions, that is a quarter of her life. It feels like a piece of her childhood has been taken away and it breaks my heart a little everyday.
