I don't have a problem with people of any age having a preference for a particular brand of vaccine just as I don't have a problem with people choosing not to be vaccinated. The only caveat I have is that those who choose not to be vaccinated can't expect to enjoy the same freedoms, when the time comes, as the vaccinated.

I have concerns for our medical professionals having to provide care for those with Covid who chose not to be vaccinated or caught Covid while vaccine shopping.

But what is your proposed alternative? Would you mandate vaccination?

For health services and aged care absolutely. Not just for your own protection but for protection of your patients.

If you're working in an Oncology ward and you're not vaccinated you are absolutely putting the lives of your cancer patients at risk. As are you if you work in aged care (they are already being told they need to be flu jabbed.) Peri- and Ante-Natal. All different specialities work with transplant recipients who are on immunosuppresive drugs to stop organ rejection.

Agree 100% but my comment and discussion with pawsandclaws was aimed at the general population, not medical professionals. There are a number of occupations where, in my opinion, vaccination should be mandatory.

if, as early indications suggest, that we will require booster shots, will our initial choice of pfizer or AZ impact the booster choice?
can we get double dosed with pfizer and then get boosters from AZ?
if we are required to maintain vaccination status with annual boosters should we be looking at getting manufacturing of pfizer and AZ onshore to prevent further supply issues in a years time?

That's not yet approved in Australia but likely will be.

There'll also be the Moderna vaccine available 'real soon now' (this month) which has shown very promising results against the Delta variant.

Was told by the nurse who gave me my 1st and 2nd vaccine jabs thag this week could be a big week for double jabs

As everyone who got there first jab at the start of the lockdown chose the 12 week option for AZ over the 6 week

And apprently rhis week and next r the end dates so to speak to get there 2nd jab

That makes a lot of sense. I don't think many people went early on the second AZ jab.

At Saturday's press conference, I thought a couple of journos asked Minister Blaggard about "freedom day"? Like Boris spruiked in the UK? I was hoping Blaggard would have said there is no such thing in NSW, instead, at 70% twice-vaxxed, there will bo some easing of restrictions for eligible people. He didn't. He's either ignorant of NSW govt policy or negligent. Probably both.

Isn't our imagination and sense of humor a great thing.

Yep I’m the same. Considered shortening it but went with the longer protection as I’m not leaving the house at the moment anyway.
