@TigersFan4Life said:Neither referee noticed it was the 7th tackle. The video ref didn't either. The commentators didn't either. None of the channel nine tech people noticed. I didn't notice and I was watching. Did anyone know?

Hope so. Can't stand Cronulla and a big majority their fans are nothing but drunken animals. Unfortunate for the good ones.
Some real bad reports coming out regarding poor behavior yesterday.
Hope they get what they deserve.
Up Up Cronulla my big white arse.

It will be a real slap in the face for the Cowboys if the team that controversially beat them and put them out of the finals yesterday end up being disqualified due to the ASADA investigation, because yesterday will never be repeated, regardless.

Yes, because the sharks are the ones who called 5th tackle on the 6th…... :crazy

I agree, it's not their fault the ref is incompetent. Beau Ryan said he had no idea it was the 7th tackle until Freddy told him after the game. Todd Carney said he found out on the way home listening to the radio. To overturn it is ridiculous. Not to mention the Sharks ground out the win when they took the front. If they know they are having 6 points deducted from their score they would not be hitting it up and kicking to the corners to wind the clock down, they'd be throwing the ball around. Replaying it sets a dangerous precedent and is a road I don't want the game to go down. We didn't replay our game against Cronulla in round 1, 2012 when we got an advantage from a ref not knowing the rules in golden point.
@happy tiger said:Some Shark players would of known , even just watching the game I'm counting the tackle count both in attack and defence
People who think that players hear the ref yell out 5th tackle and they go " What 5th tackle , that went so fast " tell em their dreaming
As a play maker you are setting to something and saying things like 3 plays til we bomb , or running a play I would say at the least the 6,7 and 9 would of known and Carney is just BS ing us

They normally dont count the tackles as a set of six, but they definitely count the set down to which ever play the are working towards. From time to time, this might not be counting to 5, as they might have a 4th tackle option, but I think its safe to say every 7 or 6 in the comp would've known something wasnt right. Most Fullbacks would've know also, but on this occasion, the Sharks had plenty of bodies in motion, so Bowen should be forgiven.
The idea of replaying or stripping victory is simply not gona happen… Either way, I still think the NRL have a duty of care to ensure a correct result where possible. The fact they would've know before halftime, I think they have failed the Cowboys and the Betting community on this occasion.
I'd say the fact Henry & Thurston weren't fined would suggest this is the compensation they are receiving?!
