Big rumors around that the the Sharks are about to feel an almighty wrath over this ASADA investigation. I know we've been hearing it all yr, but the next couple days could be very interesting.

There should be some sort of consequence for the Sharks. i remember in 2009 the Dogs lost the minor premiership because they were penalised two competition points for having 14 men on the field at one point during an earlier game in the year.

If Sharks get done now they'd have to be out of this seasons finals , and then deducted something like 20-30 points for next season. It's too late in the year to punish them now. Highly doubtful anything will happen before the grand final though. They've had all year and seemingly made bugger all progress.

No one seems to like the Sharks. I haven't seen one post on any forum, from somebody other than a fan of theirs, supporting them in any way. In fact, I see a lot of forum users hoping they get done.

Todd Carney said he found out on the way home listening to the radio. To overturn it is ridiculous. Not to mention the Sharks ground out the win when they took the front. If they know they are having 6 points deducted from their score they would not be hitting it up and kicking to the corners to wind the clock down, they'd be throwing the ball around. Replaying it sets a dangerous precedent and is a road I don't want the game to go down. We didn't replay our game against Cronulla in round 1, 2012 when we got an advantage from a ref not knowing the rules in golden point.

As a play maker you are setting to something and saying things like 3 plays til we bomb , or running a play I would say at the least the 6,7 and 9 would of known and Carney is just BS ing us

The idea of replaying or stripping victory is simply not gona happen… Either way, I still think the NRL have a duty of care to ensure a correct result where possible. The fact they would've know before halftime, I think they have failed the Cowboys and the Betting community on this occasion.
I'd say the fact Henry & Thurston weren't fined would suggest this is the compensation they are receiving?!

It's an unfortunate scenario, but I think the NRL has taken the only action they really could by suspending the match referees and officials and having them call the tackle going forward.
Cowboys fans have a right to feel a bit let down, but the reality is they were still in front later on and lost the game. The spray Thurston and Henry gave the NRL while at the time might have been emotionally driven, was excessive and the Sydney conspiracy claims were an outright joke.
I'd imagine the best scenario for the NRL is to have a NSW team vs QLD team in the grand final every year to generate as much interest as possible as it essentially becomes a de-facto origin game and maximises the audiences in both states. Especially when a team like Cronulla possibly look like they are in a world of trouble regarding the ASADA investigation, the NRL would be praying that they would bow out early on in the piece.

I wonder how many extra, incorrect sets of six tackles (not just one extra tackle) have been awarded to teams that lead to tries, over the years through stripping penalties that were really just lost possesions/loose carries?

I suppose when you have zero tackle it can become confusing when things happen as quick as it does
