I see the selectors are considering giving Cooper Connolly his debut
I have no problem with this but to ask Beau Webster to make way for him instead of our batsman who is most struggling for form being Marnus Labuschagne
This would mean that Konstas gets picked then he succeeds and then gets dropped
Also Beau Webster gets picked and succeeds and then gets dropped
Just think it sets bad principles and promotes insecurity
Marsh got dropped because he was out of form
Connolly gives one more spinning option but we already have plenty
Maybe he comes in for Murphy !

All these debuts - it’s like a Wests Tigers season.
I don’t really understand this selection. Batting 8, maybe bowling some spin. If he’s being picked as a batsman he’s batting too low and it’s a big call to say he’s the next guy to pick. If he’s being picked because he can bowl, he’s played 4 shield games for precisely zero wickets.
Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s incredibly talented. Just seems an odd pick. It does give us a deep batting order though.

Can only think that batting second on this pitch batting, depth with a bit of lefty spin as a bonus is what they believe is needed to come out on top.
I think he bowled 8 overs in the 1st innings in the 1st test.
Good captains call Smith brings Head on and he gets a wicket
Next over goes back to Starc who gets a wicket a few balls in to his 2nd spell
Starcs 2nd spell 5 overs 3 maidens 1 for 2
Chandimal was their best in first test and he's a real thorn in our side in the 2nd test .

I think our boys will be happy at 9-229. Lyon, Keunemann and Starc did well but for mine the stumping of Chandimal changed the direction of Sri Lanka's innings.
