Totally agree JT. Time for a change at the critical No 3 spot but who do you think ?

Many people have always believed that the best batsman bats at 3 which is probably Smith although i would be hesitant to move him, whoever it is i hope the selectors make a change for the future

He seems very comfortable at 4 but not getting any younger. Unless Marcus is capable of overcoming the yips( and he’s had more than enough chances imo) maybe it’s time to identify the next shining star for 3.

I hope Marnus getting 26 not out in this run chase not under pressure
Doesn't confuse our selectors
They already have headaches
Konstas ,Labuschagne
Webster ,Green ,
Boland Hazelwood
For the WTC final for me its
1.Kwajaja
2.Konstas
3.Smith
4. Head
5. Inglis
6. Webster
7.Carey
8. Cummins
9.Starc
10. Lyon
11. Boland
Reserves . Hazelwood , Green , Kuhnamenn
South Africa have very good fast bowlers
Hazo Oz test bowler of the year and can get wickets in Pomland.
Bolo, love him, but go and remind yourself of why he got dropped over there.

Another good win. I think the Cooper Connolly experiment failed. Not a bad idea bringing in a left arm offie (6/8 of SL’s first 8 were right handed) instead of Murph who only took one wicket and he can bat quite well. Had a brilliant BBL campaign but Test cricket is completely different and it showed. Talented player and I doubt this will be the last time we see him in the baggy green.

Inglis also experiencing the highs and the lows of test cricket in two games. Dunno if I’d keep him based on the century as the pitch was pretty flat.

For WTC I’m thinking
Khawaja
Konstas (although he just scored 3 off 33 in shield 🫤, not many other options though unless you put ahead back opening at Inglis at 5 again which I don’t particularly like)
Kurtis Patterson
Smith
Head
Webster
Carey
Starc
Cummins
Lyon
Boland

Not sure when Cam Green returns but I’d rather be safe than sorry and use Beau.
Also if Cummins is injured I’d be looking at Fergus O’Neill or Jack Edwards (just scored a century in shield today and was top 3 in wickets before the break) provided Hazlewood is also out.
Patterson in for Inglis is the other one. His form at number 3 this season is insane. He was Top 3 in run scorers before season break in only 6 innings (others ahead had double the amount) with 500 odd runs averaging over 100. He then scored 137 at 3 against England A a week ago. He boasts a test average of 144 as well.

Good numbers for Patterson, sounds very promising.

There’s no way I’m taking the field in pomland in a GF without Hazo.

Starting to wonder about Capt Pat
He missed months of cricket prior to the 1ST test vs India in Perth
and he was underdone and poor in that test
Fortunately he was great for next 4 tests
Now seems a really long lay off since Jan 5th
Missed 2 tests vs Sri Lanka
Will miss 2 ODI'S vs Sri Lanka
Rumoured to miss Champions trophy ?
Story is leave due to birth 2nd child ok that's happened
Leave due to ankle soreness which he's had for months ?
He sure looked fit at the SCG
Point is he's Captain and only seems to play tests and only the important ones eg WTC and Ashes ?
Conversely if there is a guy who needs a rest its Starc whos picked for every game and he's looking a bit worn out
I'm not privy to the inner workings but something here doesn't make sense

NSW need 400 today, Sam is at the crease I hope he has a serious dig at it today.

Nesser the freak is back taking wickets and making runs.

Konstas and Patterson both fail in this shield game. 25 runs for Konstas over two innings and 19 for Patterson.
Jack Edwards a century and a 50 and 2 wickets.
