Best batting day in a long time for Australia. They have been few and far between since the Ashes. Bowlers finally something to defend. I think Hazlewood will take a bag full on this deck

McSweeney has struggled and he probably shouldn't be up there but I think its a little harsh to compare him to Head. He isnt scoring but he is soaking up some balls at the top which is way more valuable than a run a ball 20-30. Baptism of fire against Bumrah. Think he will be better for it
 
Now the Big Mash
Stoinis just interviewed just played T10 in the middle east and captained a Canadian franchise just in the last month
What's it all about ? $$$$$
Now its Perth with 3 poms and 1 kiwi and a mix of Aussies some are from WA
Vs Melbourne with a similar mix with one from Perth
Don't get what the teams represent ?
 
With two back to back tests coming after this one we need to grind the Indian quicks as much as possible. The more overs they bowl the better and it should work to our advantage come Sydney and Melbourne. For that reason I hope the tail can hang out to lunch tomorrow.

Although I have a gut feeling this track has plenty of runs in it for both teams if you play your shots, so a draw is a real chance
 
So I guess the thinking is bat big tomorrow and hopefully bowl them out twice in 2 and a bit days?
They were calling for a declaration this arvo on the radio, to have 30 mins at them.

They represent whoever wants to pay them,i have very little interest in T20 and absolutely zero if it is not the World Cup.I realise some like it but to me it is just hit and giggle and favours the batsman over the bowlers

Has to be. Ideally get to 480 and have 30 mins before Lunch. Think our bowlers will get it right on this pitch

Back to the old days of making sure you can’t lose before you think about a win.
Not much daring in our decision making, should have got them in this arvo.
Batting on unnecessary imo but I note more rain forecast so maybe we’ve just written off this test, result wise, and on to Melbourne 1-1.
Day one a sellout down here, talking 95,000 and would think 80% would be Indians as we took in 170,000 new Indian immigrants in the last 12 months to supplement our already large Indian population.
I find them pretty good people and boy do they love cricket.

You should be able to get plenty of good Indian food down there,i love Indian food

We have to win the series to regain the trophy so when you've got them down which won't be often against this team put your foot on their throat
Go to Melbourne 2-1 sounds good to me

Lucky we didn’t drop Steve, Steve.
Hopefully it’s a return to form and not just a fleeting glimpse of everything he has/had left inside him. He needs to score another 50 next at the crease to feel comfortable I reckon.
But that innings will mean he doesn’t get dropped for the rest of this series.
