Conspiracies aside that was an awful crowd…..I know it was raining but that was pea hearted.....we beat our chests when she is full.....but im skulking after that.
The Cambo crowd was awful and this is just as bad IMO.
Im dreading all games in a concrete jungle,,,,,most probably mean the end of me going to games.....

The crowd was certainly bigger than it was stated. I was standing at the gates on the hill, waiting for my friend to use my cash to buy his ticket and in 3-4 mins there would have been at least 20 members who's cards didn't scan. After 10-15 seconds of trying the teenage girls just let them all in. They didn't scan any sort of ushers pass, they just walked in.
The ushers did recommend the members go to the Mary St entrance and get their tickets scanned there, but this was 5 mins before kick-off and no-one would do that once inside.
Over an hour or two leading up to the kickoff, and possibly including some from the other entrance, there could have been 1-2k who weren't scanned. I wouldn't say 14k all up, but probably around 10-11k.
Unless WT have CCTV and are counting everyone inside the ground there's no way those people were counted in any official crowd figure. There wasn't anyone else standing around with a clicker, a pad of paper or anything that could be used to count attendance. Just the teenage ushers and the beefy security guys.
I can imagine it would have been similar at Campbelltown. The problem simply seems to be faulty technology with the memberships, either the bar codes or the scanners don't work consistently enough. It seemed people with paper tickets didn't have problems being scanned through their entrance.

Without getting all conspiracy theory about it all…. The announced crowd didnt seem to match what I thought was in the crowd. Id have been guessing 12kish, maybe even a bit more. Was very surprised to hear only 9K

Like the night at Cambo, the crowd yesterday was bigger than what was recorded. Still a very poor turnout, poor Mayer must be pulling his hair out wondering what he has to do to pull a crowd

I just don't like going to LO. To me, without the nostalgic glasses on I see it for what it is, a dump. I hated going there before the JV and I still hate it now. It's 2014, that grounds used by date expired 20 years ago. I mean a siren not working…are you kidding me?
I don't much like going to CSS either but out of the two CSS has it all over LO in amenities, ease of access, parking,public transport...you know, the things you want in a football park.
I guess if you buy into the myth of LO than you will fight tooth and nail to keep it but the reality is we should be playing out of ANZ full time. I don't care if I never go to any suburban ground again. I'd rather be watching a financially secure, well performing team in a state of the art super stadium.
Then watch a struggling team in a laughable ground just so a few old blokes can sit on grass and drink tinnies talking about other times they sat on that grass drinking tinnies.
As for LO being some spiritual heartland...blah.
Fortress? Blah
Mega crowds? ( only if playing Sydney teams, on Sunday arvos, and not near a long weekend, and not if it's cloudy and not if it's a crescent moon and not if it's a odd year and only if the team won the previous week)the list of crazy excuses is endless.
Time to embrace the future before out club gets left behind.
