Curtis Rona

From all the smoke I would imagine he has a agreement with our club if and when the Force are given the chop. His manager is putting cold water on the speculation just ensure he gets his full entitlement from the the Force and the ARU. He is also probably leaving the door open just in case the ARU offer him a better deal as part of the settlement. Anyway once the Force are formally given the boot I would imagine he is on the bus

Either that or he is a complete idiot to continue to leave little social media hints for journos to pick up.

He'll be at WT next year

What makes you say that, just out of curiosity?

Hmm me too i am also curious as to how you know he will be a tiger next year. Do explain.

His actions and responses have just about painted the picture, just awaiting finalisation of the ARU process of formally closing up shop in the west.

The wheels keep on turning on the Wests Tigers bus, even if it looks like they're in danger of falling off.

The Tigers could drop to last on the NRL ladder with a loss to Cronulla at Southern Cross Group Stadium on Saturday night.

Due to their inferior for-and-against, the Tigers - who are on a five-game losing streak - will be jumped by Newcastle should they not get points against the premiers.

Asked if the ignominy of slipping to 16th had lit a fire under his players heading into the clash, coach Ivan Cleary said: "I don't think so.

"The table is only relevant at the end of the year."

"On the bus" has become a de facto catch phrase for the club since Cleary uttered it in his first interview since taking over from Jason Taylor.

And he said there were still plenty of seats left for anyone who wanted to get on board.

Cleary said the club's signing spree had not finished, however, he ruled out bringing in any more mid-season transfers before the June 30 deadline.

"We'll be similar to a lot of clubs, we've still got positions to fill," Cleary said.

"It's slowed down a bit but we've got a couple more to go and there's a few guys playing at the moment trying to sort their futures out."

Tui Lolohea was brought in from the Warriors while Josh Reynolds, Russell Packer, Chris McQueen and Ben Matulino have signed on for the 2018 season.

Former Canterbury winger Curtis Rona had been linked with a move from the Western Force a rumour denied by his manager Steve Gillis and Cleary.

"That's new to me," Cleary said of reports suggesting Rona could be playing out of Concord next year.

It was fuelled by a cryptic social media post in which Rona said he was "on the bus".

"That's good. That's awesome. The more the merrier," Cleary said.

Fwiw - Brett Papworth believes the force will be the team cut as they're owned by the aru and the rebels aren't.

I've heard similar, that the Rebels owner reckons his contract with the ARU is ironclad and if they cut the Rebels he will sue.

Does anyone have any info on how the aru meeting went today?

They endorsed to cut one super rugby franchise. No word on which team though.

Mediation with Melbourne Rebels …. Arbitration with Western Force .... where are our lawyer buddies. Which is worse ...
