If Tedesco's dad said something similar, do you think Ted would be dropped too? Just shows Siro is expendable. That's his own fault really.

You are somewhat correct, The better you are (at anything in life) the more slack you are cut with things, and Tedesco is far more important than SIrro.

The other part is that Curtis's dad isnt just another guy, he is a club legend that people listen to (rightfully or wrongfully), so him criticising Taylor carries more weight. If Tedesco's dad said that Taylor was coaching the creativity out of him, no one would care. Paul Sironen says something and people will look into it.

I actually think all coaches are coaching the football out of footballers way to much.

It starts at Harold Matthews. Not only that they only select certain players. Someone like Alfie Langer wouldnt make a a junior rep side, even after ripping it up in the trials. They would look and say too small, he kicks funny and he cant pass very far. Forgetting that his vision just laid on 3 tries and his football nous made him the best on the field. Happens all the time, they wonder why we have no halves coming through.

Anyway I digress.

No Curtis' dad is not a club legend, he has played as many games for Wests Tigers as I have!
The fact he played for Balmain is completely irrelevant and it means nothing

You can argue semantics, however if you believe that Paul Sironen"s opinion carries no more weight than mine or yours you are kidding.

There is a reason why his opinion in the paper, people care what he thinks. No one cares what I think.

Rightly or wrongly if Sironen or someone like him says something people are more inclined to listen. Therefore Sironen making comments on Taylor's coaching is different to another players parent making similar comments. In fact they probably do, we just don't hear about it cause it doesn't make the news.

Ali is say that the tigers are set to release Curtis sironen as he has signed with the Sea Eagles For the next two years. Is this true or may this just be made up?

Good luck to him if he does go. For some reason he isn't progressing with the Tigers so maybe a change of scenery will do him good. Maybe they are looking at slimming him down and putting him at 5/8 as they are in desperate need of one. Dylan Walker is a 5/8's backside and Jamie Lyon will be gone soon.

The downside to Siro leaving is his brother will probably join him at some stage and he looks a good prospect. Although at present you would think Siro is in for one hell of a fight to get back into the top grade and is would be on good money, so if he goes than there will be benefits as far as our cap goes

You could be right there coach… but in any case I now feel so worn out by the club backing 'prospects'!

I'm glad the club looks to be getting more hard-lined and less emotional.

I think the lazy gene is in the Sironen DNA ,who cares if the whole family pull up sticks, another could be ..might be prospect over a these prospects enjoy the sea air.

Please let it be true…...Would free up some much needed Cap room.
He had his chance and got complacent and is simply not good enough, as for his brother Bayley? That is all he is a Prospect....it's not to say that he will be successful in 1st Grade just like his brother talked up but no substance.

They all want to go? See ya and good luck.

Never like seeing a kid who has come up through the junior system leave the club especially a house hold name, but in Siros case it will be good for him and good for us for all the reason people have been talking about in this thread

Unless the tigers agree to release him, he cannot sign with Manly. Is under contract until the end of 2017.

We don't want to be paying him to play for manly, or any other club, we can't repeat the mistakes of the past.

If it means free up money to keep Addo Carr ? i'd release him to whoever wants him .

If that was the choice then do it now FT

Bayley is a tad injury prone…if we want to invest in a wide running backrower from the 20's Esan Marsters is who I'd be looking at...

As for Siro Snr Jnr...sometimes a change of Club can be best for all parties..we will carry some of the cost but as FT points out the balance can be put to good use elsewhere...

From RLW this week

In the Doing My Block column from of course Blocker Roach ex Balmain, NSW and Australian legend and best mate of Paul Sironen father of Curtis

"A Word on Curtis Sironen

Curtis played reserve grade last week. The same Curtis who many esteemed judges predicted would play for Australia as a five eight. He seems to be out of favour with my old club. I hope it's not because he is considered too tall, too big for five-eight. Let's not forget Wally Lewis, Brad Fittler and Laurie Daley wern't midgets."

Take from that what you will but I take that Sironen wants out esp given Blocker is so close to the family and surprisingly for me he wants to play 5/8\. Although to be honest I always thought he was a better five eight then a back rower and shouldn't have been moved but surely it's too late to go back now.

The esteemed judge was bozo. He's showing good judgment as an origin selector isn't he.
