You just can't drop half the squad, the cap doesn't allow that. There wasn't anyone in the squad more deserving to be dropped this yr. No other player had underachieved for 3 years like Siro had. At some point you have to say enough is enough. For all of Rankin, Kev and Lovett's faults, i've never seen anyone bag them for not having a go. Having a go and just not being up to it is more forgivable than someone who has talent and coasts. And again, it's hard to replace average players when you don't have anyone better to replace them with.

**_So Sirro was not having a go and Lovett was lol. How can you even measure this or talk about it._**

It's a stupid comment. I'm not concerned with Sirro getting dropped but let's not make up bogus theories to justify the decision.

I don't think that this is fair at all. The idea that Sirro has all the talent but he just doesn't work hard enough doesn't ring true to me.

I think Sirro does some good things (sticks in tackles, decent hands) but stats of 6.6 runs & 56 metres in attack per game don't indicate massive work rate.

Its very easy to tell when a player is genuinely having a go and another isn't. Stevie Wonder could see that Siro was living off his reputation while a guy like Lovett busted a gut.

As far as Kev goes, defence is atrocious, no doubt about that, but he's the best attacking centre this team has by a mile.

So you dont think he deserved a recall to prove himself? Especially when his replacements Edwards and Lovett werent setting the world on fire. You can try as hard as possible if your not first grade material your not first grade material.

Joel edwards: 6 runs & 52metres
josh Aloia : 7.5 runs & 60 metres

Not much better stats above.

Edwards was in the team for defence up the middle, and I think he did a pretty good job at that.

Aloia is by all indications going to be a good NRL forward in the years to come - how much do you expect from a 20 year old ( who played every game by the way) - need to cut him some slack.

I have been one of Sironens greatest supporters but on form he could not seriously displace the other two from first grade. I think he will still end up as a good player, but maybe he needs a change of clubs unfortunately to realise his potential.

I agree with Siro being dropped in the first place as he was playing average. But there is no consistency. How can you drop one player becasue of form and have multiple players that also derserved to be dropped keep playing. You cannot select a player based on ticker and heart alone. If the tigers selected me i would give 200% but that still wont make me a first grade player. How Rankin, Lovett, Naiqama were never dropped is beyond belief. We held 2 players accountable for form this year(sirro and farah) everyone else pretty much got a free pass with no accountability. I would have given siro another shot to see how he responded.

The sad part is, if Sironen was even as good as Rankin, he would still be there :deadhorse:

Good at what??? Washing JT's car?? Walking JT's dog?? Rankin is just as bad as Sirro but got a run each week cause he's one of JT's favourites.

LOL so hilarious. JT sure has his favourites and they will play no matter what. Probably the major reason we lost JAC. Couldnt crack our first grade team but was probably told he will have a great chance of playing wing for the mjnor premiers. I dont think anyone had as bad as a game as rankin had against penrith and he was first picked next week.

If JAC's bad game against Souffs wasn't worse than Rankin's game against the Pennies I'll walk to Bourke.
At least Rankin didn't just stand there in the in goal and watch the opposition player score a try!!!!
U-N-F-O-R-G-I-V-A-B-L-E (from a match winner) Lol.

We should play Rankin, Naiqama, Lovett, Edwards in NSW cup where it is more at their level.
I believe they can carve out good NSW cup careers. Very solid second graders.

Siro has had nearly 4 seasons guys. 4 seasons of bludge.
You bag Rankin, Lovett etc but they haven't been doing that season after season. They don't improve and for sure they will meet the same fate in half the time Siro has had to "adjust".

Id take a matchwinner who makes mistakes over a plodder who makes mistakes any day of the week. Remember the bulldogs game and JAC scores length of the field try (something rankin could never do). Do you remember simona makes a break , puts a kick through, bounces up perfectly for rankin and…...... knocks it on. Mediocre player at best.

It amazes me how many times commenters can make the same joke.

Well explain to me then how Farah and Sirro were held to account for "poor form" whilst other players were selected each and every week regardless of performance. It's pretty clear for me to see that Farah and Sirro were dropped for other reasons besides poor performances because accountability doesn't exist in JT's world. Is it a coincidence that Farah and Sirro's dad both spoke out about JT? I think not.

How's bagging the Coach working out for the both of them. No matter how much you dislike your boss,he/she is still the boss.

I get this but Aloiai also had ordinary stats when put into the same spot. It doesn't mean that they are bludging or don't care.

I can understand what you're saying. In particular, I don't think Farah was dropped for poor form. But telling the same joke over and over is always tiresome.

Maybe "bludging" is harsh (hard to call any NRL player a bludger, and I would never say he didn't care), but it does indicate a low work rate. If Aloiai has those stats in 2 years, I'll be bagging him also.

When Sirro was dropped, I honestly expected him to work his arse off in reserves and be back a better player in weeks. It didn't happen. If anything, he looked worse.

I feel a little sorry for him. When injuries struck and he got his shot back in firsts, he came down with a virus.

In the real world not many people last long after speaking out about their boss. Why should the rules be any different at our club?

Tiger Torch's post on 05/08 said that Siro is on $280k now and the option Siro took up was for $300k.
No where near the $500k people are talking about on here.

I don't have a problem with stating he had a low work rate. Blair also had problems when we played him out wide. Aloiai has also had poor stats in that role. I said earlier I don't have a problem with him being dropped and I don't go looking for a conspiracy theory for that.

I still think that he may turn into a good player if he is given the right role and possibly groomed correctly. I hope he stays with us.

I don't know where some guys get their figures from. There is a lot of hyperbole surrounding Curtis.
