this isn't a generation thing.... plenty of people in there 20s have a hard working mentality, don't be so naive

Totally agree. Put in over the off season and earn your your spot. The future will sort itself out if they perform. Competition is a good thing.
 
Like others have said I’m not sold in Daine as a FB, has some skill but doesn’t seem instinctive in the position.

One of Hodgo’s best attributes was following the play and working off the hips of ball runners, we just don’t see enough of that from Daine.

Seems like a nice kid so I hope he finds his mojo I’m just not convinced.

Sheens might feel the same way....
 
The guy is only 2 years in and has already won player of the year in one of them. Hasn't had a full consistent season but hes only young playing in a major position, what do we all expect?

Everyone is so quick to say 'let him go' and then complain in 5 years time why we let all these superstars go. Perhaps its up to our coaches to improve his game...

Charlie has shown to be better at.

... others might just be unaware because he's a Penrith reserve grader or whatever.

Interesting to see how it plays out nonetheless.

Besides that, there could be injuries and having competition means we can cover that.
It seems like it's expected now to release players early or players not concentrating on the current commitments.
 
Look at where he would be if he was still at Penrith ...probably the 3rd or 4th best fullback ...just remind him of that contract time .......and where would you be rated at any other club best case 2nd best at some of the weaker clubs .....Roosters / Storm etc again you might be No 3/4 best fullback

Go and play off the bench in KOE ...see how many clubs come rushing to knock your door down

Laurie isn't that good .....probably played 3 acceptable games all season when you compare him to what is the acceptable level of the average level fullback

BOTTOM 4 FULLBACKS in the game ..ain't gonna play in a GF winning side ...fullback is wayyyy too important in the modern game

I reckon chuck’ll get it done. He looked to good in Reggie’s last year, he’s no teddy but he’ll be a better and more consistent fb than loz.

I think they signed the Hammer to be their fullback.

I don't think that Kennedy or Walsh are better tbh, they have more hype but they have the same flaws as Laurie.
Brimson was well below expectations last year and the Titans couldn't work out where to use him.
Okay Laurie's not a top 10 Fullback but he's good value right now. I think having Staines around will make everyone better just because no ones spot is guaranteed.
I want to see Laurie at 6 this year, I think it will suit him much better.

If Brimson plays his best and Lauire plays his best ..Brimson wins ..just my opinion and he is probably more consistant
