Daine Laurie #237

He's a gun, can't wait to get him involved in the rest of the attack

Were really only seeing his skills from bringing the ball back from a kick

Exciting!

A little bit of a young Benji on his body type but his game has a lot of Ewen McGrady

He reminds me of Ben Barba. The difference is he seems like a good kid with a brain in his head.

Yes that’s exactly who I see when he is playing. A young Ben barba. I can’t believe how good Laurie is 5 games into his career. I can’t believe IC had Dylan edwards ahead of this guy. Imagine the panthers team with Laurie at fullback.

Because right now, Dylan Edwards is the more complete footballer. It made sense for Penrith. They had to choose between the seasoned fullback who helped steer them to a grand final appearance or a rookie who has shown obvious potential but had only played 1 first grade game

But I have no doubt Daine Laurie will end up having a better career , he is a freak

I honestly cant recall a player EVEr coming and in looking as good as this kid......Bloody brilliant. Literally could be anything , what a steal!!!

Laurie, Stefano, Simpkins, Simpkin, Tuilagi all have that extra in their games. You can feel a revamped team emerging. We just need to hold onto them.

Now with Edwards out and a couple of suspensions being served, the traitor has to do a reshuffle of his backline out at Penrith.

The traitor would be imagining his Panthers team with Daine Laurie in it, but unfortunately for the traitor, the kid is with us.

Didn't we have Edwards on some scholarship or junior agreement at some stage? I recall because he was from Albury, not the Central West.

Staines will drop to fullback. They also have a pretty handy junior rep outside back to bring in who is related to their 9.

IC will reject our request for Naden but Robert Jennings says hello!

Great to see such a natural talent with us! He is going to be a real gun and I look forward to seeing him build attacking combinations with other team members.

Will bring the crowds for sure!

Left of field but Tyrone Peachy. So In saying that maybe a David Peachey. Just the bouncing off, bouncing around, popping up here and there. A more complete fullback than Barba, but at this stage Barba is leading in the athletic ability stakes. A bit of Presto prehaps?

The way he attacked that bomb on Wests 10m line and went on to make a mini break was fantastic to see.

The best about young Dane is...he is tough, plays solid at the ball, doesnt panic and has speed...
He is a quality young recruit that will be a devestating player with more NRL games under his belt....

In my honest opinion he really is going to be the next Teddy ....

1 of the best moments in the match

Where u got dragged back by frizell and he got up in his face after the play wanting some of him

Not afraid

I don’t get this need to constantly compare talented young players who have just broken into the Nrl to those of the past/present. It just puts an air or a label of expectation on them.

Just ask Luke Brooks how it played out for him with the Nrl media constantly comparing him to Andrew Johns, those comments pretty much set Luke up to fail in his career because he was labelled.

So I would say let Daine find his own path and be his own man - after all it’s got him this far....🐯
