Dale Finucane

It was on Twitter from a user who calls himself something like NRL Rumour Man…or something along those lines.

**Finucane on the move?**
The Tigers have emerged as the new front-runners to sign impressive Bulldogs forward Dale Finucane.
>
Although under contract, Finucane has been given permission to talk to rival clubs and visited Melbourne last week.
>
But the Storm don’t have much money in the cap - a problem the Tigers don’t have.
>
After releasing Blake Austin and Adam Blair in recent weeks, the Tigers have room to move in the cap and are set to make Finucane an attractive offer.
>
The Bulldogs want to keep Finucane but have cap problems - and more forwards than they could possibly use.

I know its just The Lurker, but hopefully where there is smoke there is fire, he would be a good addition to our backrow.

please i cant take any more rumors, i know we need players and he would be a great pick up, but lets face it we will not get him or even bid for him so lets move on.

Agree on the Lurker point, but beggars can't be choosers, and he would be a great pickup for us.

According to the Lurker, "After releasing Blake Austin and Adam Blair in recent weeks, the Tigers have room to move in the cap and are set to make Finucane an attractive offer"

It may be true that the Tigers have room to move in the cap but (i) have they plans to sign Finucane and (ii) have they enough money left over in their cap to do so? Only a few people are privy to the information to answer those questions.

I am sure they have cap space and for a change seem to be waiting for the right player to become available rather than just blow it on the first player that comes onto the market.

Finucane would be a very got fit for us, he is just the style of player we need to sure up our defense

He does little for me

Perhaps but he does a lot for the teams he plays for - averaging over 100m and 23 tackles in just 40 min ave on the field last year for the Dogs - he does more then for his team then any Wests Tigers backrower has done since Ellis

He'd be a great replacement for Fulton, a real workhorse. IF we were to sign him, i'd say he'd take one of the starting spots next yr. We're skinnier than Kate Moss in the back row

He'd be the first back rower picked imo. Thats if it happens anyway.

I think Finucane is the prototype for the players we should be looking at, 50 odd games and looking to force his way into a starting lineup. You can do alot worse than to look at the top 4-5 clubs and pick up a few guys looking for more game time.

I think he is a lot bigger than his stats represent.

Looked at wiki and it definately doesn't seem correct. He seems easily over 100kg.

I dont read stats, I watch games
He is very missable

Tbf, is he any worse than Fulton? Don't get me wrong, he was a great servant for the club, but our supporters do tend to overrate the player he was.

I thought he was a prop? Never did much for me either but it's easy to go missing when you have Eastwood, Klemmer, graham and Jackson in the pack.

I'd have him - he's a big, versatile forward who has been mentored by some of the best at the Bulldogs. He's only 23 and on the way up, touted by many as a future Origin rep. The only trouble is that this info is from the highly misinformed Lurker (has he ever got anything right?). Every credible report about Finucane having to leave the Bulldogs has no mention at all of WT chasing his signature.

Those stats are huge considering the time he got on the field.

More than Blair did in 80\. Much more.
