Finucane is 29 and has played hard for years. Have heard Joey Johns say he's a bit concerned Dale might not have a lot left in the tank. And he wants a long deal at big bucks, all good reasons to pass on making Dale an offer. But with Pangai likely heading for the Dogs, we need to get a big name onboard sometime soon to help draw other good players to WT. God knows who at this stage!

I agree with this. He would add something to an already strong unit but for us he wouldn't do much. Would be a huge chunk of cash for very little upside.

We have to start somewhere ....Finucane on 3 years would be a good signing .....you could sign Haas ,Klemmer , RCG , AFB , Taupau , the Penrith hyphen, Yeo and not much would change ...but it would be a starting point ...next season another quality forward and then you start talking about a pack that can at least hold its own

Does he have 3 years of good footy left in him? Not so sure. I'd rather sign someone in their prime but am happy to be proven wrong.

Did you watch Origin? He looked ineffective and easily accounted for... an indication of how he performs out of the Storm system ... I could entertain 2 years but not for the asking price over an extended period - too old.

I’d throw the check book at Victor Radley …. Make him the marquee player, captain , whatever it takes.. he’s a gun, best forward in the Comp and a ball playing hitman that leads from the front and has dragged teams to the grand finals his entire life , get him to lead the forwards and sigh Kotoni Staggs as 5:8 and backs leader and sit back and watch the mighty tigers enjoy the next 10 years of finals footy with Diane Laurie topping the tryscorers from the fullback position…. Dylan Brown as halfback for the tigers would also round out recruitment for me … Go the tigers 🐯!!!!! 😀

If they don’t tell everyone their idiots?
TBH, I would rather just get a surprise if we sign him, these long drawn out negotiations are a health hazard🤣

Agree mate its all we can do. The Nofo one was poor. Adding to the fact we now signed big Ken, we now have two wingers signed till end of 2024 and 2025 respectfully, blocking any pathway for anyone else. If someone else does break through, we have a well paid winger in reserve grade.

Hopefully if we land 1-2 (even if a bit overpaid) and they come off, it will entice more players to do so. Knights and Dogs overpaid Burton/Ponga without much experience as a gamble, we might need to do the same.

It hasn't worked for either of those teams yet.

I’m just saying, I’d take Kalyn Ponga in a heartbeat. He’s definitely worked out for the Knights and will only get better with more experience

Still haven't made the 8 with him.

We need a 150kph player and he's not it. Plus the last bloke we got from Melboune on a multi year contract was a fella called Blair. Remember him?
