Dally M's

Wow listen to you all!!

I think everyone needs to take their tigers glasses off and realise that we had an ordinary year.
Some people expect our blokes to win two or three positional awards as well as get the same amount in the Aussie test side.

Reality check!!

Once the team plays good consistent football ( talking about a minimum of a top 4 finish here ), then i'll get upset if we miss out on rep jumpers and accolades.

Fair dinkum do you all really think that these rewards are warranted after the season we've just had?

But these awards arent for the teams, theyre for the individuals. The reward for the best team is a premiership. Results should not matter in deciding who the best individual players are.

I know it's not based upon the teams performance mate but it's easier to poll more points when you are a part of a team that wins 75% + of their games.

8 Dally m's for the dogs eh?
Got towelled up on the weekend,
No halfback,
Hell of a lot of pressure this weekend

well done TnT!!!!

as for Ennis getting the nod over Robbie…. I guess an individuals stats mean diddly squat, probably would have been a different story if Noddy wasn't around.

How does Benji not even rate in the nominations???

Farah deserved hooker of the year as he carries our team, same reason as why Kimmorley deserved halfback of the year. Both clubs would be in a lot worse position if it weren't for these players. Same goes with Thurston, but IMO he's been on and off this year and a lot of teams are being able to shut him down.

idris rookie of the year is a joke. josh dugan, croker and mortimer were way way better.
ennis over farah biggest joke on earth n im getting sick of the media beat-up and cheer squad sports jurnos who continuously push ennis's case when farah is clearly head n shoulders better than than scummy grub. the only reason i can think of (and its a shocking reason) is that robbie is lebanese they must have something against him.
coach of the year should have gone to henjak. sure dogs went from last to 2nd, but they did it with a whole new team of experienced 1st graders they bought. henjack had several players leave n still managed to make the finals.
todd greenburg has a lot of bargaining power over the NRL. he is a dirty sneaky person who can not be trusted and i would almost be certain he had a roll to play with all the dogs getting the awards.
i was soooooooo happy tuiaki got winger of the year. well done mate.

if anyone wants any indication of how credible the dally M's are, just think to when robbie was virtually guaranteed the medal a few season ago n then thurston gets 13 out of a possible 15 points for the last 5 games, including 2pts vs the dogs in the final round when he was replaced after 55mins.

With that sort of reasoning Thurston shouldn't get a vote and should also be overlooked for the Kangaroos tour

Congrats to TNT for winning winger of the year. Bad to luck to Robbie to miss out on being named hooker of the year. I would have thought having the 4th highest tally in the overall points would be enough to secure that award…evidently not for some unknown reason.

Robbie is a great player but he has had an ordinary year. Benji has been 10x player Robbie has been this year as has Ellis.

Ennis has had a good year and he can play - I think he has no where near Robbies ability but his team has performed better throughout the year & he has been consistent. I still think Robbie has performed better than Ennis but it hasn't been as big a difference as in the past.

Congratulations TNT!

How is it that Robbie gets 5 points more than the grub, but still doesn't get hooker of the year??? I agree that the end of the year wasn't great for Robbie, but surely he was better overall than the grub!

Off season should be spent getting to know the journos on a first name basis along with more media training. We could take out half the awards like the Dogs next year!

They have the best coach, captain, rookie, centre, prop, hooker, lock and point scorer, but they got towelled up without their halfback.

Stryker you are spot on!! Please everyone stop being such bloody sore losers….Get your Tiger goggles off we were really not that good or we would be in the finals. The other teams deserved these awards much more than us.

Mate, they are **individual** awards.

Cowboys came 12th and Thurston still managed to get Halfback of the year…

Djm619 - Your not seriously comparing our blokes achievements and game play to thurstons for this year are you? like him or hate him, that guy is in everything for his team week-in, week-out. He deals with the refs, organises the plays, does most of the kicking, tackles like a demon, goal kicks, this is on top of his test and state duties were he has a similar workload.

Like Balmain 1 said I think everyone is carrying on a bit too much here.

Wasnt that long ago people were writing threads asking what was wrong with Robbie as he was off the pace for weeks on end.

I got no probs with the "team" of the year they selected, except i think that Robbie shouldve been there.

I mean Robbie is statistically better then Ennis, more influential on the games outcome and to finish it all off he won all the one-on-one battles with Ennis. Ennis also showed that he cant play without Kimmorley while Robbie showed he can play without Benji by setting up all our tries in that match Benji missed.

Im fine with all the other guys selected in the team of the year.

With the other awards, I dont believe Idris shouldve got rookie of the year but im not saying a Tiger shouldve got it because I reckon Dugan shouldve.

Yeah Thurston is a great player and deserves his award, but Ennis does not. Take away Farah and we will suffer a fair bit. Take away Ennis and the Dogs would probably improve

Oh well. Atleast ill be able to watch his abysmal performances in the finals without Kimmorley to carry him.

Farah should have got the 9…...and Dugan was the rookie of the year by a country mile.

Idris and ENnis.........if it wasnt so bleeped up it would be hilarious.

The team selected was spot on. Seriously Ennis was slightly better than Farah..He was so much better than him in State of Origin. I think the selectors or whoever picks the Dally M "team of the year" got it right!!!
