DCE....

Honestly after watching his press conference today, I just see an extremely greedy, self-centred, attention seeking individual who has no care in the world for anyone else. I now understand why the majority of the squad at Manly dislike him.

Trying to say that he changed his mind because he wanted to be a "one club player" is so bloody ignorant. He would have had that opportunity regardless. He is a class player and would have been able to resign or sign for any club when ever he wanted. If DCE is searching for job security, I'll fly to the moon and back tomorrow.

It is so obvious that he played his cards right in search for more money. He even said himself that he changed his mind when this new deal was put forward by Manly. Obviously he was happy with the increased dollars and completely destroyed the Gold Coast's plans for more money whilst suggesting otherwise. Feel so sorry fort he Titans and their supporters.

Anyone suggesting that we can't criticise DCE/Manly because Teddy did it couldn't be more wrong IMO.

Teddy turned down more money to stick with his preferred option - staying with his mates in the city he resides.

DCE signed a contract as a bargaining tool to up Manly's offer and make as much money as possible whilst staying where he already was. DCE also waited a long enough period to ensure that the Titan's lost players to accommodate his big money contract and has now destroyed the club in the short to medium term. He continually gave them assurances that he wasn't going to backflip and now this. What a horrible person.

DCE has lost so much credibility over this whole saga and IMO would be a perfect fit for the Manly captaincy.

Honestly every time i see him in that press conference, it makes my blood boil and I don't even support the Titans. I can only imagine how they're feeling right now..

Money money money,
always sunny in a
rich mans world
Aha-ahaaa…........... It was always about money with him. Sacks full of if.

At least his staying loyal to the game not like some of you folks who lick the ass of players such as SBW.. Including the media…

His a sea eagles boy who his current club payed out more...

Talk that Titans will now look to sign Maloney.
In my opinion they are better off with Maloney than DCE.
He might not be as good as Cherry-Evans, but he is still a very good player and will be a hell of a lot cheaper. This opens up the door for other marquee signings too.
Plus with all the work Maloney does for the Footy Show and Channel 9 it makes him a marketable player for the club.

Maloney will be at the Sharks.

Really? I guess Gordon wants out. These are the guys off contract over there from what Zero Tackle has available. They could turn into quite a dangerous team next year. I think a lot more dangerous than a DCE lead Sea Eagles.

Tinirau Arona, Blake Ayshford, Nathan Gardner, Michael Gordon, Chris Heighington, Saulala Houma, Ricky Leutele, Todd Murphy, Pat Politoni, Matt Prior, Tim Robinson, Jeff Robson, Junior Roqica, Sami Sauiluma, Kyle Stanley, Sam Tagataese, Anthony Tupou, Dallas Wells

LOL.. It's all about money and nothing else with Cherry. And to be honest, i would'nt miss him if he decided to go and play for another code. Couldn't care less. :sunglasses:

Yep he has come across as a prima- Donna flog. I would think the Manly club will be worse off for having him around in the years to come than by not having him TBH, these sorta things always go sour.

Totally agree. And how good was Hunt for the Broncos. Definately the better half of the two on that game…

What was the highest paid player on eight years ago in 2007?

He may be on peanuts come 2023, if he lasts that long

Yes I agree with geo hes a prima donna, hes a cliche riddled, personalityless dullard who plays footy pretty well

Don't hold back now Ink, tell it like it is.

As I said in a following Post Changing his mind is fine…it is within the current rules...the way he went about it calling a 8 man press conference to announce his decision 3 months after signing with the Titans saying he only decided within the last 48hrs smacks of the Prima Donna he is...

Can't recall Teddy doing the same a week after his decision to stay...

Playing devil's advocate here, what if that was Manly's decision to run out the circus to announce it?

*DISCLAIMER: I've only seen tidbits of the press conference so if he said he called it I rescind my question.

Manly probably did however DCE was in the Middle and has been on every NRL panel show since….Explaining his reasons over and over again....

I stand by my opinion that he is a Prima Donna...

Agree with you Geo. I'm so over DCE. It seems he's not liked by many. Oh, that's right, he does have a bestie in Myles…:unamused:

DCE is a champion and he did a great deal, within the rules, to secure his playing future. Thats all that counts.

Operative phrase here is "Within the rules"

Lot of people have short memories here.

One rule for Teddy another for DCE obviously.

I think TM is being really harsh on this guy. He seems a nice guy, not a wanker in my eyes and if he can do better for himself and his family within the rules - why not?

He is a really good player - who knows the dramas he faced at an unhappy Manly (maybe he resigned because Toovey maybe going) who knows. Good luck to him - a RL player does not have long to make hay…..
