Dene Halatau

My understanding is that Halatau has been offered a very small contract.

Justifiably so given his form and value to the side.

Considering he's a NZ rep and a premiership winner he will probably feel he can earn more elsewhere… hopfully he takes it if he gets any bigger offers.

I heard that whisper a good three weeks ago too Sirro…now that Wing is going officially, we might hear something from the club? :sunglasses:

And then next year when Halatau gets a consistent run in the one position and plays well, all you dopes will be scratching your head wondering why we got rid of him.

Wish Dean all the best at Souths Hope he carves up…If he doesn't he'll still play for New Zealand from reggies....he's that good....

Catch T'eo's game tonight....Taps carved up..... robbed of a try too...I could not be happier for him....Watching him carve up the Broncos was fantastic....

I won't be scratching my head at all, I know exactly why we're getting rid of him.. he's useless and there are far better players coming through the ranks. Look, if he goes to another club and wins the dally m medal, good for him, but I don't want him at the Tigers anymore. Same with Harrison, I was happy to see the back of him and I still am, despite him finally living up to his potential down in Canberra - he would have never done it at the Tigers.. he needed to get out of his comfort zone, he needed a shake-up.. Halatau is the same, although he doesn't have anywhere near as much improvement in him as Taps.

If Halatau is going and Morris has signed with the Sharks who will be the back up Hooker for Farah?

Any talent in State Cup sides or anyone from Toyota Cup who can make the step up?

Couldn't have put it better myself Danos. If Halatau has any improvement left in him, he's not going to realise it at the Tigers.

Ryan Carr from BRET has good wraps on him.

Him and Chris Corby would work well in tandem if ever Robbie was unavailable.

Not convinced on Corby…Nathan Waters has been very good for the Pies as well....Carr would go well....

Nathan Waters would be my tip, very creative out of dummy half.

sorry but imo corby is miles off an nrl start…he is not skillful or strong enough at this stage ....

if Dene does go to another club. I bear no malice, or ill feeling towards him.
sometimes a change is what is required for your own personal development.
I wish him all the best, and am grateful that he was a part of wests-tigers creating history.

What rubbish. Playing in multiple positions doesn't hide the fact that he can't tackle, can't pass and would tuck it under his arm and run straight if we had a five-man overlap.

That's being a bit harsh …he passed once for Hodgo to score against the v Storm in his last game at Cambo.....he can pass

Geez you pick one incident in how many years? Halatau has not played consistently well since 2005.

He was alright in 2008\. He outplayed Fulton which was evident in the forum poll last season between Halatau and Fulton in which Dene dominated. But he has been very disapointing this year
