As long as our democratic and justice system is preserved and our judges remain independent of politics then we can remain confident in our justice system.

And when somehow from time to time our politicians think that it's their law and not the established law that the judges know and uphold then those politicians will be shamed just like they've tried to shame our great nation here and abroad with their idiotic minds.

And they will appear in full view of the public just as they appeared to the judge, political fools.

Very well said @FinestTigers

double standards if they let him play - don't like him - punt the dill brain!

Dill mayo?! Not a bad choice to sauce him, but he’s still the best player in competition and a national treasure to his people, whether we choose to like it or even accept him?

Really don’t see the point of kicking now.

Novak Djokovic may have 'manipulated' PCR test result

An investigative report conducted by German news outlet Der Spiegel into the digital copy of Mr Djokovic's PCR test has found the timestamp on the test suggests he tested positive on December 26.

Mr Djokovic has previously maintained he tested positive to COVID-19 on December 16.

This is in the Serbian public health records – the outlet suggests there could be some manipulation in this situation but it remains to be seen.

This latest inconsistency follows an investigation by Australian Border Force officials into whether the nine-time Australian Open champion lied on his travel declaration before entering the country.

We can all just agree he got special treatment because he's a famous tennis player, and then move on. I'm not too cut about it - famous people get preferential allowances all the time, it's just one of the perks of being a famous person. I would love for everything to be egalitarian all the time, but that's not how the world really works.

And nobody should be surprised to find out that Djokovic is a twat, because he's been like that for a long time.

Malcolm Knox wrote a good article in the SMH the other day, about how Djokovic's supreme self-confidence and mental toughness is both what makes him an all-time great tennis player, but also why he exists in his own off-kilter unreality, surrounded by disciples and sycophants.

So he's a bit up himself.
A bit like Cam Smith perhaps.

Well, sounds a bit like every successful sports star. Remember Roger Federer back around the time we won our premiership during his winning speech mentioned me and I over a 10 times.

Their all mostly like that. What's new?

Federer is not and has never been up himself.

I disagree. Listen to some of his early interviews.

But he has certainly managed to cultivate and project an angelic persona of himself especially after initial success.

But look, that's how these guys get their edge.

Lucky I was bought up not to idolize anybody, just enjoy the sport and contest and ignore the character .

Maybe our definition of up himself is very different. When I think of that term I think of a twerp like Kyrigos

Not wrong there.
Kyrigos.

Imagine having a coffee with him. Shocking.

On the subject of tennis flogs, how much of a pelican is Tomic? He even makes Kyrigos look good.

yeah sorry mate even if he's a superstar, I can't tolerate double standards specially when it looks like he lied on his declaration - genuine mistake ok but blatantly lie - you can't accept that

I haven't heard the term dill brain used for such a looooooong time @4jtigers
The words used these days instead of dill brain are mostly a lot worse.

I work @DHA and work closely with Hawke (mainly his DLO) will be interesting to see what his office decides. Problem is staff could be working on more pertinent national issues but have been bogged down by this…

Our taxes…

That’s the sad part about the whole thing, it’s a waste of our resources.

Personally I think the guy shouldn’t be here however he was granted a visa originally, met the requirements he was told he had to meet, and won an appeal after his visa was revoked. Just move on from it all he’s not a national security threat.

Hopefully he gets knocked out early but he’ll there for the semis at least.

If he's lied about recent travel etc they should chuck him on a plane home. Let him get away with it and it encourages everybody else to do the same. Wouldn't he have had immigration stamps on his passport from his recent visit to Spain?
If he plays I hope he gets a thunderbolt 170 km/h serve right in the gonads (if he's got any).

The Prime Minister looks like a complete buffoon on this one. Tried to act tough and gain back some ground after all his recent stuff ups but it blew up in his face internationally.

Novak seemed to do everything right and at the end of the day it looks like the justice system made the correct ruling.

Although, the claims he was a prisoner etc were a bit of a joke.

Seemed to do everything right?

I don't particularly like the bloke, but a court of law judged that he did.

Well that looks pretty stupid now that he has admitted to 'untruths' and apologised. That's the point.

He is a liar. He has now admitted it, so he didn't meet the requirements at all.

We can probably blame Scott Morrison for incorrectly filling out Djokovic's entry card and lying on his declaration.

If he is allowed to play then nobody is going to take any more rules seriously. It was a mistake letting a non vaccinated foreign person into the country in the first place but since he's here then just simply tell him he has to be vaccinated to play at the Australian open. That was the rules in the first place.

Europeans travel freely within the EU, well all except the British post Brexit.

This would be awesome wouldn't it. "No worries Novaxx it's all good - we just want to give you a vitamin shot."

Shouldn't have been granted a visa in the first place. Would though be quite interesting if he was removed on character grounds by Hawke and even juicier if the liar in chief based his removal on lying to the Australian public.
