Dugan megathread

So lets entertain these rumours for a second (Blair, Dugan) and assume they will come true and we are looking at:

Dugan
Tuqiri
Lawrence
Ayshford
Brown
Marsha
Miller/Moltzen/Lui
Woods
Farah
Galloway
Dwyer
Ellis ©
Blair
..................
Heighinton
Groat
BMM/Schirnack/U/20
Fulton

Assuming Heighinton stays. Toyed with Blair second row and Fulton lock also and all depends on how Dwyer recovers really but I think Dwyer could have better impact off the bench. Even so, looking pretty handy (on paper of course) 😛ray:

where is your winger on the bench? Sheens will never pick 4 forwards

If we signed Dugan, I would take Humpty and the Fonz to Rockpool and drink $500 bottles of Grange all night long.

Seriously though, the Doggies are looking at Dugan as a future #6\. He will go there I think.

Dugan as a 5/8? Not sure I'd be moving him from fullback at this stage.

If we get dugan and blair i guess it could sort of make up some of the anger the club has caused..

What anger has the club caused? From where I'm sitting, its the Media who are causing all this anger. All we know is that Gibbs was starting to breakdown and the club has probably pulled a swift one on the Sharks yet again (Collis), and Fifita thinks he is an Australian Front Rower so he should be getting paid that kind of price tag, if not he wants to go… The rest is just media/internet blog hype!

Cant see any fault from the club in that?!

Well said Tiger Watto.

The Dugan rumor is laughable. There is no way it is true. The only way you can get players out of contracts is if both **the club** and player agree. **Never in a million years Canberra would or should release him.**

I will come on an apologize to the forum if I'm wrong.

Watto,

Please don't beat the club's or Sheens' drum around here. You'll be branded a biased banana bender!

We have as much chance of Dugan being at the Tigers as Sheens would drop a player and promote on form none!

Big Sports Breakfast had their producers ring Humpty this morning. Apparently his reply was this is the first of 10 rumours for the day. As far as Wests are concerned Dugan is under contract to the Raiders and no approaches have been made by either party but if he became available we would be interested.

Take out of that what you will.

I thought it interesting that Humph knew that Dugan still had a year to run under contract. Does that mean they have sussed him out?

I agree 100%, only a very foolish club would release a top quality player who is currently under contract!

The relationship between Dugan and the Raiders board has been very frosty for some time. Furner and Sheens are good mates. If the relationship is that poor then why wouldn't the coaches (mates) discuss a potential player swap or transfer?

It is a long shot, but given the number of players we have released it kinda makes sense.

I am digging with a couple of contacts in ACT to see what I can find (if anything).

I really don't get it with all these Dugan rumours. If he wanted to leave, he would've capitalised on his opportunity to do so already. Meaning, that last year there were rumours flying from everywhere that the Roosters wanted him, and that he wanted out. And then, he re-signed with Raiders until the end of 2012.

Again, if he desired in ditching the Raiders, he wouldn't have bothered inquiring about an extension earlier this year.

I said yesterday there was no hope of Dugan joining the tigers, but a bloke on big sports breakfast who gets a lot of good info said he would be joining the tigers next year & thats why they have been unloading players. Now i am starting to think maybe we are a chance , they also rang Humpty & he denied it of course but said if he came off contract they would be interested.

I see your point, but if he was that happy why did he only sign a 12 month extension? The last person to do that was Quade Cooper after people were spruiking his possible defection to League…

Oh and Joey, why are you on the WT Forum unless you thought there was a possibility that it could happen….......just maybe.......

Im not discounting this, Most of us know that The new tigers leadership don't do their business in the media.

I have said many times now that there HAS to be a reason for the blood letting.

A team with Dugan and Blair in it sounds good to me.

That has a lot to do with the TV rights deal. For a youngster, who is already a star within in the game like him, it'd be foolish to sign anything longer than 2012\. This ensures he'd get a much larger pay check.

Well if you move your eyes to the left you'd see that I joined on March 20\.

I know you are regularly on here, I have seen your posts before. My point was why are you on here today if you didn't think there was a chance it might be true.

Thats all.

All I have heard is a few twitter rumours and saw it on the GH, so thought I'd just see how Tigers fans are responding to them. And being a member on this forum, thought I'd have my input.
