Easter Monday match moved to ANZ

Probably going to get shouted down for this but ANZ makes the most sense to be our permanent and main home ground. Right down the road from Concord, accessible, just needs a refit to make it a square field like Bank West and we're good.

Still have 2 games each at Leichardt and Campbelltown. But ANZ or Australia Stadium could be the thing we've wanted - a home.

I was under the impression that ANZ had a refurbishment lately and should be a much more Rugby League friendly ground...not sure havent been to the city in 2 years...

Finally get rid of that ridiculous home game against Parra at bankwest. Prefer if it was at one of our other home grounds but will take this.

Great decision

I hate ANZ lol

I hate ANZ as well but this game makes too much sense. There is literally almost a million people walking out of the Easter Show right next door. Should be a massive crowd assuming massive crowds are allowed by then.

Apart from the 'home' ground advantage being taken back from Parramatta, just love the opportunity that day at the precinct provides for our family.

Reserve a spot in Parking 1, walk down to the showground to enjoy a few hours in the pavilions before getting a readmission stamp and heading to our seats to watch some footy amongst the atmosphere of a much larger than normal crowd.

After the game we generally head back down for a few rides under the bright lights in the evening, having the car with some goodies a change of clothes within a short stroll all day.

You very lucky dude :+1: ...sounds like a very contented and happy Family day.

Thanks, we have had several great holiday Mondays there and especially good with a couple of WT wins. Sadly progressive paranoid schizophrenia tore apart at that bit by bit to the point that we have only been able to be together as a family unit sporadically since the days of the move to bankwest.

With her now long term acceptance of medication and a change of pharmaceuticals in recent months, plus today's announcement from the club, I hope that despite Covid, we will once again be able to enjoy a family day out together at both the game and showgrounds this Easter.

I hope you get that as well mate!

Hopefully we are doing well come Easter. Could be the biggest crowd of the regular season.

Here are some crowd stats on the Easter Monday game. All of them have been played at ANZ except in 2019.
- 2019: 29,047 (Bankwest)
- 2018: 30,420
- 2017: 28,249
- 2016: 36,112
- 2015: 35,110
- 2014: 50,668

Yesssss

We made this game a bit of a tradition till they moved it to Bankwest. The first one from memory there was 55 k people - pretty extraordinary for normal season game.

Ill be thinking of you and yours at Easter and hoping that the boys get a W for you.

Bankwest is a remakable venue, however it offers our club zero advantage.

IN TRUTH we have no home ground advantage for any games we play.

Cough....Leichhardt

(I know the facilities like corporate stuff is substandard, but we do get a home ground vibe there)

Hasn’t recently translated into results though. So not much of an advantage.

Sorry if I sounded short in my reply, just really wish it was getting the refurb that was promised.

Same goes for Campbelltown. When there's a decent crown it's a great atmosphere but doesn't mean we will win. Honestly I'm not a big believer in home ground advantage in the NRL at most grounds because the crowds aren't big enough

Without trawling through stats (someone will if Im wrong), Leichhardt is our most successful ground (best win/loss) so that is an advantage. IF your team is somewhere between rubbish and average, no ground is going to translate to >50%. It is certainly (particularly in the members seats) the best atmosphere for fans and players.
