Probably get jumped on for mentioning but what exactly is his value to this team?
When he first come he was used as a bit of a ball playing forward. But since we have steady good steady halves in place ….What value is this guy as he doesn’t offer much in hit ups or stinging defence.

He is the bloke who inspires you to try harder no matter ho much you are hurting.

Because he can make 50 tackles and stay on for 80 mins, HIAs notwithstanding.

If we want to retain comp-leading defence which means multiple men into every tackle, good line speed and scramble for 80 mins, you need long-minutes backrowers who van mop up all game.

That's why we started Rd1 with Taylor, Rowdy and Rochow, because then you can fairly rotate the props.

Look at last night - ET off, Rowdy missing and Sue in for Packer… and what do you know, we lost the ruck, couldnt stop the Newcastle go-forwards, let in late tries, got sucked to the middle and exposed on the edges.

People who only look at metres gained or hard runs are missing half the game.

Don't need ET to ball-play, got plenty of players to distribute. Don't need stinging defence, that only contributes a handful of tackles each game. Need cover defence, smart wrestle, ball-wrapping and commitment to tackles.

Look at Napa - best prop in the comp for big hits but generally average in regular D, and mediocre in all aspects of the attack.

That just about sums it up.

I like MCK as impact.
Biggest issue was starting Josh Aloia in the backrow when it’s clear he is no longer fit enough for that position.
Our depth was serverly tested in that game and as a result our pack was serverly out of balance.

Gives us a 5th captaincy option..

I seriously can't even believe this is a thread..

That was a shocking head knock. Was really peed off at the commentators carrying on about the supposed good hit when it was obviously a clash of heads. A player with great spirit who deserves better luck.

I have one of thoses friends from Queensland i think we all mite have one but i say to him around origin time if Liam Fulton was from QLD he would have at least 1 origin game under his belt

Liam would have been great in origin but was never even in the conversation. Real shame he had to retire early we lost the heart of our team - really good guy as well as a great footballer.

I dont think ET was the problem.

I think the team may have relaxed because ET was back in the side? Our pack was not at their best.

Taylor didn't look comfortable to me from the start of the game. After a longish layoff I thought he might have been better to come off the bench with McQueen in the side as well instead of Godinet. Just to stiffen us up a bit. However, the way things panned out Liddle came off early and Godinet played a lot of minutes. I thought the HIA's played a big role in our rhythm for the whole game.
As to the point of this thread - there is no doubt in my mind that a fit Taylor should be an integral part of our pack.
On his injury….I understand that if a tackle makes contact with the head then it's considered dangerous and penalised - so all those fans and commentators saying that there should have been no penalty are talking crap.

Et is a really solid player.

First up from hamstring he was always going to be scratchy.

Heart and soul player what rather on the field then off. Dont understand this thread.

Have a look at Sues shocking lazy efforts that led to Newcastle try. Im more worried about players like that being on the field for extended minutes.

Pointless thread. Elijah Taylor was the catalyst of change at the Tigers and the one thing we can thank Jason Taylor for. Willow, close this thread. End of discussion.

Kevin Hardwick was small but tackled everything and was one of my favorite players

I know some people that Kevin use to go out with in the shire he went as hard off the field as he did on it he would not be able to do the things now in public that he use to great player

Sorry ,whoever you are , all your posts are coming up in another language

Try English OK

Do you understand , we'd really like to see your opinion ??

One Tap YES

Two Taps NO

I bet you'd make more sense than that forum member who was deported recently , what was his name ??

Anyway back on to the thread

8 Matulino
9 Liddle
10 Packer
11 Lawrence
12 Rochow
13 Elijah Taylor

Keep these six on the park for 13 of our next 17 games and we are finals bound :sign:

Going forward I still reckon he would be best used just as a benchie or hooker rotation. Can’t carry both Taylor and Lawrence in starting side come mid season as we will get ambushed by bigger mobile packs. Happens EVERY year !!!!

Can’t be if he’s not out on the paddock tho….
Don’t wanna knock the bloke but I think his time here may have come to an end.

I'd hate to be in the trenches with you, you would have to watch your back.
