Ennis comes up short

Ennis was awesome for NSW in defense and this was the first time I actually felt his niggle played a part. He didn't do much in attack but it was my understanding he wasn't supposed to. Ennis didn't play himself out of a jersey. Dean Young, Mark Gasnier, Brett Morris, Jason King are the four to come into question for mine. Farah, Idris, Hayne and Learoyd-Lahrs may come into reckoning.

**I can tell you now unless Young and Ennis are injured Farah will NEVER be considered for NSW #9…I dont agree with that but it appears that's how the NSW selectors think.!**

Not even if they were injured, I reckon, Alexaki. The selectors are always on the lookout for dummy half alternatives and Farah is rarely, if ever, in the equation.

They would probably go for de gois or johnny moris before farah

Did anyone watch CH9 news tonight???…The grub Ennis was interviewed and he stated this NSW team needs to stay together for 4 or 5 games and they will become a force. Talk about talking up your future!!!....he will say all the rhetoric to stay in the team...Gosh I don't think I've ever hated a player as much as I hate the Anus!!...ehh sorry Ennis!.

Why am I not surprised by this, I missed 9 news but I can imagine Ennis saying as quoted, his comment that Stuart is the Blues secret weapon was enough to make me spew it's easy to see who the real 'weapon' is. As for farah, IMO he'd be better off concentrating on helping the WTs get to the finals and then go on from there, in that way actions will speak louder than words and politics and the NSW SOO mob can realise their mistake in ignoring him.

I actually agree with him. Qld became a force because they were patient. NSW have been a basket case because they aren't. Game 3 last year they hung in the game for 75 minutes before Qld finished them off, last night they were in it for the full 80, and the line ups were fairly similar, keep the core squad together and they'll improve. Hit the panic button and make wholesale changes after a 4 point loss with no possession=Qld winning 6, 7, 8, 9 series in a row.

I also agree that it makes sense to keep stability in the team but don't agree that Ennis needs to be part of the stability.

NSW attack last night was lacking when we needed it most,QLD attack however delivered when it was required. Both Idris and Farrah would be advantage to the blues IMO.Gasnier has slowed and Young provides little in attack to be considered a threat.Ennis made 3 glaring mistakes but seems to be protected by SOO selectors so the best Farrah can hope for is a bench spot or injuries to the above mentioned to gain selection for game 2.

I'm not sure injuries will help Farah - i would say he is rated No. 4 hooker by the clowns who select the team -
Ennis, Young and Gidley and possibly Hoffman  would all be picked at hooker before Farah

Did you know Ennis only ran the ball once in the entire 56 minutes he was on the field for? What kind of hooker does that? I tell you what kind, a crappy one!

The spastic made a phenominal 1 metre in attack. How pathetic. I cannot fathem how they will still pick this loser. Oh sorry he is made for origin.

With these idiot selectors you'll probably find that George Peponis and Max Krilich are in the running before Farah

Interestingly, I've seen a few articles suggesting impact players such as Carney or Gidley replace Young on the bench for the second game. It appears that Young, not Ennis, has become the scapegoat for the Blues lack of spark out of dummy half. One article actually stated that "Dean Young failed to ignite the attack in his 36 minutes on the field in game one, the bench utility role appears wide open for game two, with Michael Ennis a certainty to regain his starting hooking role"

Looks like 'old teflon' has managed to slip through unscathed, once again, despite an obvious lack of creative ability :unamused:

Did the media really expect Young to have an impact in attack? Cos I and many League fans with half a brain didnt.

Who knows what they thought, but that's not the point. The point is Ennis always escapes scrutiny - he is a protected species. Maybe Young was only chosen as a foil, so Ennis couldn't be blamed for underperforming in a key position, once again, when NSW lost.

Ennis on report tonight for a reckless swinging arm on prince.Could he miss origin 2?

He won't miss origin. It wasn't that bad. But he did also knee Preston in the head when he was on the ground. All class this guy…
