He'll convince all and sundry that he can be a lock / hooker and is a critical contributor to our attack / defence.

All this back and forth in the media with the contracts between players. It's just management play to get the best outcome for their client.

If it wasn't about money, the club would already have paid Farah out and released him. But the contract would still count against the cap, leaving (so it is alleged) nothing left to re-sign Taylor. Farah is going to get his money either way because that's what's in his contract: the only question is whether the Tigers pay all the money or just some of it.

The problem for the club is that it has no leverage. It's desperate to unload Farah to someone else that will pay enough of his salary to allow Taylor to be signed under the cap. But Farah has no obligation to accept any deal - if he doesn't want to play for the Knights or the Dragons or Leeds he can just say no thanks, I'll stay at the Tigers. It doesn't matter if the Tigers don't want him: he's contracted to them.

This is what people like you don't get when you say "he is going to get his money either way". Yes he is, but that's not because the club is being generous - it's because that's what his contract says. Farah's position is, basically, I'm going to take my money from the Tigers unless and until something comes along that appeals more. The Tigers have precisely two options: hope that such an offer arises, or release Farah (taking his whole contract as a cap hit).

What the club is obviously trying to do is make staying at the Tigers so unpleasant that Farah will be more inclined to accept any offer that comes along. Farah obviously knows that he's not wanted, but for whatever reason (stubbornness, quite possibly) is basically saying that he'd rather stay and be unwanted than take any of the offers that have come along. Do you think that if Wayne Bennett called Farah and said "I want you to be my first choice hooker next year" Farah wouldn't be off like a shot? Of course he would. Maybe he doesn't want to live in Yorkshire or play for a garbage Knights team. For the Tigers, that's just tough - unless they just want to release Farah, which does nothing for their cap problems.

The responsibility here lies 100% at the feet of whoever have Farah this contract in the first place.

He is not OWED the money yet. He is owed it over the course of the 2017 season. It is a contract for services, not a guaranteed payment of money for nothing.

You can think what you like - in fact I have thought similarly about yourself on occasion.
My opinion in this matter is to choose to support someone who has given everything to the club over someone who has been a failure the entire time he has been here.
Taylor has no allegiance to the WestsTigers past his term as coach, has a poor win/loss ratio, has people regularly dumbfounded with his ridiculous team selections and has demonstrated both now, and in the past, he has poor man management skills.
To support him just because he is the coach, without questioning if he actually knows what he is doing, is the biggest mistake some people are making.
All my opinion , of course.

It doesn't … Even with next seasons salary cap increases , we'd still be behind every other club in the cap department .
ET knew what the situation was when he came here ( basket case ).
