FANS WELCOME TO JOIN IN CHARITY SEASON LAUNCH
23/11/2011 4:27:35 PM

Wests Tigers has announced plans to raise at least $250,000 for Children’s Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA) as part of their launch of the 2012 NRL season.

In a unique change to proceedings, the Club will open up its season launch to the public who will join the Wests Tigers team and staff at Le Montage Bayside Events Centre on Friday evening, February 24, 2012, from 6.30pm.

Wests Tigers has already helped raise funds and awareness for CCIA in 2011 and is stepping up its involvement in 2012\. Already a premium charity partner of the Club, CCIA has been well supported by Wests Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall who helped raise vital funds at this year’s Footy Rocks dinner in March.

Next year’s concept is bigger and better given Wests Tigers will be launching their season at the event.

Wests Tigers Chief Executive Stephen Humphreys encouraged supporters to get behind the new event which he hopes will be a regular fixture on the Club’s calendar.

“We are delighted to work in partnership with CCIA who do some fantastic work in helping children with cancer. All of us at Wests Tigers are excited and motivated by the prospect of making a very positive contribution to such a wonderful cause,’’ Humphreys said.

“Our fans are always extremely supportive of everything we do and I hope they really get behind this event and support a cause that is dear to our hearts. It is also a great opportunity for them to come to an event which in the past has been closed to sponsors only.”

Chris Thomson, Managing Director of CCIA, said his organisation was privileged to be a partner of the 2012 Wests Tigers season launch.

“Through the support of local communities, CCIA is able to continue its long-term research projects into childhood cancer,” he said.

“Our partnership with Wests Tigers is key to ensuring the future of CCIA – and the future of kids with cancer – is bright. Their fundraising efforts have been tremendous in the past and to see their support and enthusiasm strengthen and grow is inspiring.

“We’re excited at the future prospects of Wests Tigers and CCIA continuing to work together.”

More information about the event will be posted on weststigers.com.au shortly. For bookings or enquiries, please call Chapin Ayres at Wests Tigers on (02) 8741 3316.

I rang up the club this morning and got emailed a brochure & booking form. The price is for an individual is $165.00, a standard table of 10 is $1,650.00, and a VIP table is $1,950.00.

Anyone thinking of going.

Hi everyone

It costs a fortune to be a supporter, doesn't it??

Having said that, I will certainly give some thought to going. Is it a dinner?? or just finger food and drinks….
