Father figure is the term thats more appropriate with Bennett, and thats different to classifying someone as your mate. With a father figure, it still shows that he's above them and is their boss. With a mate, it gives off the perception that the coach and players are equals.

And whats wrong with that? He's not there to be their mate, he's there to be the boss.

This sounds like it needs to be all about making Robbie happy. If Robbie or anyone else doesn't like it they should be offered the courtesy of having the door held open for him as they walk out of it. Do you think Cleary went to Penrith with the attitude of trying to get Luke Lewis believing in his ''process''. I don't think so, he walked in, told everyone how it was and if they didn't like it they could leave, and thats exactly what Lewis did. I'm sick to death of hearing how people need to kowtow to Farah.
@madunit said:I love how people assume Farah is the embodiement of everything wrong at the club and why Potter was not given the opportunity to be re-employed by the club.
He wasn't sacked. His contract ended.
Just remember that.
The board decided and it has been stated as such in the news, that they made the decision not to have Potter as coach next year.
Guessing about the finer intricacies of what may have happened outside of the facts, is nothing more than fallacies people concoct to justify their unjustifiable opinion of someone.
@Irvine said:His football knowledge should be superior to Potter's and I doubt his going to come in and wield the big stick like Potter did.

Why should it be superior? Potter did win the Dally M twice after all, 7 years apart. He also played in 4 grand finals, winning 2 with the Doggies.
Taylor is no slouch but on those stats he won Rothmans once and played the 2001 GF loss to Newcastle.

I reckon that they might strip the captaincy of him to be honest , just got this feeling

Irrelevant.
The best box erector in a box erecting factory doesn't make the best manager of a box erecting factory.

Can't understand why can't people wait and see how we go without preempting either a disaster or a mutiny.
