Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah says the groin injury he's been carrying this season has improved and he'll be in good shape to face South Sydney in their NRL clash on Friday night.
Farah is battling osteitis pubis, a problem which is notoriously hard to shake, and the hooker admits mid-season surgery is a consideration for him if things get worse.
However, for now the injury has improved after doctors were able to diagnose another tear in his pubic area which contributed to his poor condition for last week's loss to the Sydney Roosters.
After weeks of worrying about his lack of preparation, Farah has finally been able to train leading into the rivalry battle with the Rabbitohs at the Sydney Football Stadium.
"It's fine. I've actually trained all week this week with the team so my preparation is good and my injury is fine," he said on Thursday.
"I went for another scan on Tuesday night and I guess they found something else which is probably why I felt as bad as I did last week.
"I was at a stage last week where I probably couldn't really walk or get up off the couch and I felt a bit odd because I kind of had the injury under control for a while and I didn't think it was that big a problem, but last week I really struggled.
"We found that there was another problem there that we didn't know about so hopefully we can get that sorted out and keep moving forward."
Asked if mid-season surgery, which would keep him out for roughly six weeks, is something he'd consider to be rid of the problem, Farah said:
"It's, but not at the moment."
The Tigers already have a sizeable injury list, which includes halfback Robert Lui, centre Chris Lawrence and winger Lote Tuqiri.
Coach Tim Sheens said at the moment he's confident Farah won't require an operation.
"He's playing this week and it's a week to week thing. He's a lot happier this week because there's been a couple of developments with it," he said.
"He's going to be playing and he's training so I'm positive about him this week."
