Farah needs to put the club first in 2017

9\. Robbie Farah

Led the tackle count for the Blues with 42 and supported his forwards through the middle like all good hookers should. Wasn't his most dynamic game in attack, but he did nothing wrong. 6.5/10

Did nothing wrong. Sums up his series.
They should have blooded Peats . We would have got the same service this year and would be going into next year's with a guy with 3 games under his belt.

I thought Tedesco and Woods were two of NSW best players. Farah was good in game 1 & 2 but I thought he was fairly ordinary in game 3.

Now the captaincy is out of Farahs reach he might actually seek to move on with the next part of his life and not want to play that one to many seasons ..but then maybe not , there is absolutely no go forward with him at dummy half, with the quality of player around him there should of been a carve up TBH.

Farah was pretty awful last night. Don't really care about tackle counts, all hookers make lots of tackles and if they play 80 they'll often top the count.

Woods was very good last night, as was teddy, but farah had pretty average distribution and his kicking game was atrocious. 6/10 at best. Whats the point in keeping on an average and aging hooker? Why not give a younger guy a go to play with energy and try make them self the hooker for the next decade?

I don't think Daley will eb there, and whoever is coaching i can't see them picking farah. Although there really is a dearth of quality nsw hookers. I can see Liddle being the Blues hooker in a few years time. Playing a Buderus type role.

Problem is there are no stand out hookers at the moment.

Great origin career for Farah he should announce his retirement from SOO this weekend to focus solely on the Tigers next year. Well played however, NSW needs more speed and crisper service to challenge QLD.

Farah tried hard but was amongst the most ineffective on the field. Nothing we haven't seen before. He is the epitome of why you don't offer players nearing 30 A 4 year contract - they can go downhill fast. Watmough went from soo to retired in 1yr.

And that's by retiring from rep footy. The writing is on the wall anyway with Gallen announcing his retirement and Bird probably having played his last game. He's the only senior player in the squad whose future remains unclear, and I'm sure he sees the opportunity to captain the Blues so he won't retire on his own accord. His ego won't allow him to. But if he looks at the club he professes to love, next yr at Origin time we'll need him with Woods and Ted gone. Do the right thing and retire from rep footy. You might save a bit of face by avoiding being dropped and you'll be benefitting the club.

if the club commits to putting him first, he may well reciprocate.

So I fully expect Farah to play Origin next year, if he doesn't take up the offer from Leeds.

What offer? Leeds just signed Segeyaro

His performance last night and in recent matches for Wests highlight that he is most effective playing around 60 minutes. Taylor has got this call right.

Assuming Farah accepts this role going forward and his form is maintained, then by all means remain at Wests next season. The club will have to pay the $900k regardless (or best part thereof), so use him at his most effective level.

It would actually mean some symmetry to his career. He actually came into grade as a hooker that would only play 70 minutes tops. It took him at least two seasons to build up sufficient endurance to become an effective 80 minute player.

Let's just see how Robbie performs for the rest of the season.
If he is with wests tigers next season 2017, so be it.
Let him fulfil his contractual obligations, and be paid what he is entitled too.
If not, so be it. I will wish him all the best, for whatever he does.

Robbie won't put the club first. It's always Robbie first.
Did anyone catch the footage after Paul Gallen kicked the goal last night? Did anyone else notice Farah? Far from overjoyed because it wasn't about him.

Laurie Daley on NRL360 just stated he is not sure if Farah will be here next year.
He also said the Tigers had a bye and something more concrete would be known in the coming week.
He was coy and given his staunch support for Farah it sounded like Loz thinks Farah is heading o/s.

After watching NRL 360 tonight and hearing what Daley had to say i would be betting Robbie will be in England next year and it will be announced in the next few weeks.

If anyone missed it he was asked about picking Farah next year and he took an age to answer before spitting out "i'm not sure where Robbie will be next year but the tigers have a bye this week so i'm sure we will know in the next few weeks".

I hope he is right and Farah is heading o/s. Be great to have the extra money to ensure we retain young stars like ET.

All this talk about Farah being selfish and this and that. Lets not forget Farah re-signed when more money was on the table from other clubs. He also back ended his contract so the club could be under the cap and sign other players. The way JT and the club handled the situation last year was hopeless. If any of our workplaces did that how would we feel. Is Farah worth $900k? absolutely not, but its not his fault the club put him on a back ended deal. I was one of the ones hoping he would be gone next year but now im not so sure. Cherrington is being shopped around so he wont be here next year, Halatau is all but certain to retire. Lets also convince Ballin to retire and take up a coaching role, and lets get Farah to mentor Liddle to take over in 2018\. Farah playing 60 minutes has done wonders for us and him.

Tiger man you have it all wrong. Farah has been an excellent servant for the club. Reading between the lines of what is stated above he will be overseas next year. This is the ideal situation as we have seen his successor handle 40mins of first grade with a solid game last week is to keep balin on board as he is costing a quarter of farahs wage next year. He is the ideal player to assist with improving this teams culture and mentoring liddle as he is a proven winner, down to earth and a extremely dedicated and committed individual. As mentioned above this also allows farahs wage to be spread amongst the playing group improving the balance of the squad. Also gives ET a decent enough increase to stay as he is only 24 and still on the rise.
I think farah has finally turned a corner because this decision is one of the most unselfish choices his made.
Full credit if it comes to light and I wil be happily sending him off a winner at leicharrdt oval round 26.

Is there a cut off date for super league clubs to sign players for the current year?

June 30..

Very interesting comments from Laurie on 360 tonight…very non-commital on Farah's selection in 2017 stark contrast to the pick him from reserve grade of this year...

He also believes he will decide what he will do in the next few weeks...
