Farah/Taylor Thread...

Marina Go said a while back that it would take this club a few years to get out if the salary cap mess it is in.

Clearly that was in reference to the back-ended deals that previous management had agreed to. Since then I can only see good decisions being made from this board and management.

A lot of players have re- signed recently. Players I thought could have had other clubs after their signature. To me it's a good sign that this club has direction. I don't hear noise from up high and that's a good sign especially with the nonsense that he have had from previous times. Sheens, Humphreys, Mayer - thankfully, those days are behind us.

I think Robbie will stay in 2017 because he wants to play NRL and no other club wants him. They all see him as a dividing force ( true or not).

Will JT stay beyond his contract ending 2017?
If the Tigers go close to the top 8 next year - the answer is Yes, they will keep him. If we don't do well next year he is gone. Simple. If they don't keep JT in 2018 my hope is that they "spend big" on a proven coach. No more wannabe coaches with this team.

I call bull on Moses. If he's in the same position this time next yr and has run his market value into the ground again, he'll have no choice but to stay, regardless of Taylor. I would have thought it was a bit more relevant what Tedesco would do rather than our halves.

As for Farah/Ayoub and the agenda in the media, in less than 12 months, the topic has become more destablising than Wests v Balmain arguments ever were. Ask yourself when you last saw a Balmain v Wests stoush on here? It's been a long time. And like Balmain v Wests arguments, you can't win, some people will always think the sun shines out of Farah's backside even if he kidnapped their kids. Farah played his best game on Friday since the Warriors game last yr, and despite what i think of him personally, i was rapt with how he played, then his manager went and opened his mouth. People forget Ayoub represents Farah. Anyone thinking Ayoub is going to the media without Farah's consent is extremely naive. If he wasn't, Robbie would sack him. Big Sam is just doing what his client wants him to do.

The sad thing is the good feelings i had about Farah after Friday night have evaporated after reading this. It's sad that his impact off the bench which was clearly displayed and imo was the difference between the 2 sides has to be seen as a demotion by his cronies. At the end of the day, he isn't losing any minutes, so what's the problem? It's about the team, not Robbie.

Nice to here the "Robbie" chant in the middle of the WT members.

Still a very popular clubman despite a few nerds on on net.

His try was the loudest cheer all night.

"ROBBIE, ROBBIE" LOL Family, friends and i were also chanting while watching the game at home. But seriously doesn't Robbie look trim, fit. Well done Robbie. You handled yourself with class after all the c..p you had to go through in the media. :sign:

Think "The Weed" has an agenda against the tigers. There is a filler about Moses and the Roosters later in the article basically suggesting that he only signed because no-one would match the money he was on next year, but would not sign a longer term extension.

This is the same idiot that was defending Stephen Dank every week in his column for over a year. Genuine people don't trust him, so all he can do is pass on the info that he's fed by Dank or Ayoub or any other desperate.

What about the other side of the fence?

The people that will ridicule, joke about, and blame Farah for anything that is wrong with Wests Tigers.

A saw a few even blame Robbie when we lost to the Chooks !!

It appears Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor has ramped up his efforts to get Robbie Farah out of the club. And here is another project for Taylor: he needs to keep in sweet with captain Aaron Woods.

We understand the brilliance of James Tedesco, Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks, but Woods is the player Taylor needs to build a club around.

This column hinted at tension between the skipper and coach recently – more specifically the way it was communicated to Woods that he would be making his comeback from the bench. Taylor has confirmed publicly that Woods wasn't happy at being benched. We were set to bring you the news that Woods and Taylor don't get along – something we have heard several times now – but that has been played down.

Woods is as affable and easygoing a character as you could meet, and he has told this column there are no problems between him and the coach. Woods has always been honest with this column, so we will take him on his word.

Taylor needs Woods on his side.

Taylor would think he is on track to succeed in pushing Farah out. But take it as fact Farah is not flustered. He is not biting back. He will play reserve grade if it comes to that. Farah has kept his views to himself on Taylor's latest attempt to pressure and embarrass him.

As for 2017, Farah has no plans to leave. And would only do so if he has a viable option, as he had with the Roosters last year. He will go if he can be coached by someone who appreciates him. He wants to play in a team that has the potential to win a title. He does not want to go to England, even though there is already strong interest.

Farah has had to sit back and watch his name be dragged through the mud again. It comes back to the media conference Taylor conducted after the loss to the Roosters last Sunday.

Taylor made the "war" public between the pair when he wouldn't confirm Farah was in the side. All week leading into the game with Souths on Friday there was one focus from the media: Farah. Not on any of the players who lost to the Roosters. That's the Roosters minus Mitchell Pearce. And Boyd Cordner.

We should have been asking questions about Taylor's tactics, recruitment and relationship with his assistants and other leading players. Instead it was Farah who had to sneak out of training on Tuesday because there were three camera crews waiting for him. The last thing Farah wanted to do was explain why Taylor didn't assure him of his spot for the game against Souths. How would he know?

And then Taylor held another media conference on Thursday. There were a dozen questions from TV reporters. They all focused in Taylor v Farah and there was barely a positive word from Taylor.

Farah has just kept his head down. He has done what he has been asked.

His agent, Sam Ayoub, is frustrated by the speculation and says he is sick of the agendas.

"This isn't a Robbie Farah issue," Ayoub said. "He has a binding contract. That is acknowledged by all and sundry at the Tigers. He can't be forced out, irrespective of the agendas, let alone be forced out of the country to play anywhere else, be it in Australia or overseas. That is a choice for Robbie, not anyone else.

"My interest is in Robbie. Robbie hasn't driven this, nor has he asked for any of this to be played out the way it has. He has said nothing, he has copped it, maintained his silence, but mostly he has maintained his dignity, something others should adopt.

"He has been focused and committed to the Wests Tigers and he showed again on Friday night what a class person and player he is."

Already posted^^^^ I see your Danny Weilder and raise you a Gus Gould…

Penrith boss Phil Gould has defended Wests Tigers Jason Taylor’s decision to bench Robbie Farah and says the alleged feud between the coach and former skipper is a creation of the media.
>
Relations between Taylor and Farah have been strained ever since the coach attempted to push the NSW hooker out of the club late last season.
>
Taylor’s decision to rest the veteran from last week’s loss to the Sydney Roosters fueled fresh speculation of more unrest before Farah was dumped to the bench on Friday night.
\
\
But speaking on Channel Nine after the Tigers’ upset 30-14 victory over South Sydney, Gould rubbished reports the pair’s relationship is beyond repair.
>
“Where is the disharmony? Where is the disunity? Where is the dissension that’s tearing the Tigers apart? If that was the case you wouldn’t get a performance like you saw tonight, at all,” Gould fired.
>
“And like I always say the media build this up from the outside looking in (and make it) bigger than what it is.
>
“The coach has got the right to pick any player, regardless of reputation … and he’s done it tonight for the betterment of the team.
>
“You can’t argue with what’s happened tonight and I’m sure Robbie Farah wouldn’t argue with it because he looked to me like he was enjoying his football out there tonight.
>
“Even though it was probably a dent to his pride to come off the bench but if it’s the best thing for the team – they did lead 10-0 – and then he came on and steered them to a really good win.
>
“What’s wrong with that if you do that every week and the Tigers make the top eight?”
>
Farah came off the bench in the 27th minute and scored a 40m solo try to seal the victory late in the second half.
>
“You don’t play like that if there’s disharmony, disunity and dissension and it’s affecting the team morale – you just don’t,” Gould added.
>
“What they’ve done is just answered all that rubbish that’s gone on all week.” http://www.sportingnews.com/league/news/gus-gould-weighs-in-on-taylor-farah-feud/1h9xrq87zf49z1fjdktwtdgc0x

What's wrong with the boss Taylor picking his side

Fact. Robbie is not the player he was from his 20-30yr old

The coach is adjusting him to suit the team over Robbie career it's always known he wasn't a heavy duty defender more an attacking hooker. So y not at back end of career bring him on after 20 mins

Given all the factors in coaching the Tigers side compared to top sides I reckon coach is doing a good job with what he has Etc players. Finances

So now Woods and Taylor also don't get along ? Throw in Farah and Moses and Brooks only signing a one year extension in contracts, there seems to be one common denominator in all this.

Sure some will say the reporter is a tool, but whatever the problem is either Pascoe or the board needs to sort something out sooner rather than later.

If anyone has the link could they post up the interview with Mitchell Moses which was shown on Ch9 post match. it will be interesting to get your take on his body language when answering the question.

Think the consistency of the Tigers team is the major cause why would top rookies sign for long term

Young halves getting bashed every couple weeks
They are keeping there options open
If we played like storm every week do u think Moses and brooks would care if Taylor was coaching

These boys want to play rep footy and win comps

Im interested to know how any of this gets to the media.

Whichever side of the fence you sit on, or if youre like me and see positives and negatives on both sides…....who has the most to gain constantly whipping up the media.....?

I suspect i already know the answer....

God I'm over the way some of the players carry on, chucking public 'tantys' because they are chosen on the bench instead of starting. We have Farah, now Woods getting all snotty, Taupau the year before and Benji carrying on like a spoilt brat a couple of years ago. Honestly what's the big deal? You're still in the team, you're still in the game and you will often end up playing more minutes than the bloke you replaced anyway! If you're so ticked off about it just shut up and make your mark by playing well when you come on the field.

I don't see being put on the bench as a 'demotion' at all - it's about being used in a more effective way for the benefit of the TEAM. Taupau, for example, was 10 times more effective playing off the bench for us than he was starting, imo - everyone could see that except his big ego! Players like Halatau, Grant & E. Taylor would never carry on like this. Could you see someone like Halatau saying to JT - "how dare you bench me, don't you know I'm an experienced Premiership winning hooker, who has played for his country several times over"! No, never! He would just go out from the bench and do his best, as always.

I'm just so sick of hearing the dummy spits about being benched, so many times among our players, over the years now - it really is much ado about nothing that is cranked up by the muck-raking press because they simply have nothing else worthwhile to report! If these prima donnas were dropped from the team altogether then they might have something to whinge about, but really just be thankful you're still in first grade and play your best for the team. Isn't that what it's all about?

Yeh, not too hard to guess is it, these "articles" appear almost weekly, and they only ever seem to shine a positive light on certian players, which may also be a factor as to why certain people might not be such big fans of that type of player.

How does any of it in any way shine a positive light on the club, surely those type of players can see how negative it is to the entire organisation and every other player as well.

If it's every man for his selfish self, then fine, but I always thought it was a team sport.

If I was in a team and certain players consistently had certain articles published about how hard done by they were, I would be very very angry.

I agree by the way.

I don't remember noticing anything but if the question had something to do with Farah and Taylor and his body language suggested he was annoyed then it was probably because they'd just had a good win and instead of talking about that it came back to the same boring story. The players are entitled to be jack of it.

Currently I'm happier with robbie's form and jt's coaching than I thought I would be. I'm happy for robbie to be recognized as he was on Friday night with a chant. I also think we should refrain from booing our coach.

Then I find on a fan forum that all some supporters want to do is focus on disharmony and disunity to satisfy their own agenda, whatever that might be.

This article looks like Pawsandclaws and a few of his mates got together to write a school project. It is a piece of creative writing, published so that weeder and ayoub can stay firmly attached by using each other to prolong and extend their careers and influence.

Quoting ayoub has less credibility than quoting the tooth fairy. Just another jt hate piece. If people would just stop offering their inflammatory opinions maybe there would be a lot less noise to get this excited about. Nothing sadder for us as a club that our modest improvement recently gets lost because people are so idiotic.

And pnc, i saw the Moses interview on the footy show. Looked like he is as sick of it as most of us are.

The common denominator is that all of these blokes have come through playing under a captain who thinks he runs the club, has no respect for coaches and likes to play games through the media. There is the other side of the story that Moses and Brooks want out because Farah runs the show and overules their calls on the field.
