Farah to SOUTH SYDNEY in 2017..OFFICIAL..

What happened to Damien Cook, i thought he went alright for the Bulldogs. Maybe the Tigers and Souths can come to some arrangement and we take Cook for Farah. Surely he's a better option at no cost than Mortimer.

According to Paul Kent, we wanted McInness in exchange for Farah.

That means we will be running into season 2017 up to $600k worse off then all other clubs when it comes to our cap. What a mess those negotiations 3 years or more ago have turned into.

And to think, Potter tried to stop all of that from happening.. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all?

I think he was a good option. I think he should have stayed.

Why do people get so tied up in paying for a player at another club?

This year alone we got Grant, ET and Ballin for peanuts.

Some will go our way, so will go against us. ALL CLUBS DO IT.

I'll add that Newtown's hooker from a couple of weeks ago might be worth a shout too.

Yeah, from all reports he's likely to have played some part in that..
I wanted Potter to stay at the time too, thought he was doing a decent job - just needed a little more time. Was on the back foot the day he started, no one seemed to make it easy for him.

Unless I get the proof that Farah ousted him I don't believe it. I don't though think he got the same backing that JT has received.

Would be funny if the wheels fall off big time during the last five games and the board boot Taylor and introduce a new coach is a Farah fan. Not likely, but a possibility. I guess Robbie will have signed with a new club before that could happen

Yeah that would be bloody hilarious!
Fair dinkum are some of you people in the right forum?

Pathetic

Relax buddy a little light hearted banter. Mate don't take life so seriously you will end up with a ulcer. Mate I have been following the joint venture/Balmain for over 50 years, and over the years I have learnt not to take them or myself to seriously!!! You should do the same

I am hearing you Supercoach, like me only I was a wests supporter, you need to humour yourself to stay sane, what about we offer JT to other clubs for next year and offer to subsidise that contract, wonder how many takers we will get. 😱pen_mouth:

$600 000 possibly more for a player to play somewhere else not worth getting up tight about!

I think you mean Matt Mcillick BB.

TT did not seem to be an issue for the Broncos last year paying 2 3rds of Ben Barbas $800,000 contract.

Look the reality of it is the $250,000 we have owed him from previous years was always going to be payed to him from the club.
You take that away from his reportedly $950,000 and that leaves $350,000.
Esentially that means we are paying the money in back pay + half of the his remaining 700,000 contract for next year.
As someone mentioned, if it is a 2 year deal and back pay is outlawed, if RF does not want to play for any less than $400,000 for the 2018 year this would mean that we would be paying less only $550,000 for next year.

Anyway I think alot of you are forgetting that currently we are down $950,000 on this year's cap due to like it or not the coaches direction.

So either way we will be better off next year as we will have at least $350,000 extra to spend on our cap!

Jason Taylor is right to get rid of farah…too many chiefs and not enough cooks.

I mean the last time we had 4 chiefs making up our spine was when brett hodgson, Scott prince, benji Marshall and farah were together. We also won the comp that year.

What a genius jason taylor is :crazy

It was also when Farah basically just gave the ball to his halves.

Are u making things up as u go? Did u not watch robbie back then? He was one of the most creative players in the game until JT came in and put the shackles on him

Interesting that Souths have dropped McInnes this week .

Same player JT wanted in a player swap last year very interesting.

For what its worth a former Dragons player I spoke to today believes Hayne & Farah are heading to STGI. They may look to release Dugan to the Bulldogs.

Apparently the NRL have leverage over Hayne because of the Dodgy Third Party Deals at Parra and they want him on the GC.

Well one prediction has been busted already,
And I wouldn't mind betting that the second one is the next to go

I don't have great mail.

I don't know if he was so good because it's really hard to tell from the outside.

If I compare Potter to JT though there are a couple of differences in Potters favour that I can see:-

1\. Potter acted with class from the start. JT came in and said a bunch of stupid stuff such as the previous players and coaches didn't care about defence or play any defence. He also said he would fix our defence. This was just stupid talk and of course it hasn't worked out that way.
2\. JT has created a debacle with the Robbie situation. Potter didn't do that. There was drama but that was clearly all on Robbie (even though I think it was overblown).
3\. We never had a period of dumb tactics that lost us games ala Taylorball.

When Sheens was here we had some wins where obviously the coaching staff tried a bunch of stuff and came up with great footy. Potter was different to that in that he had the team playing simple footy but Potter also didn't have the mad scientist team selections that Sheens had.

I just think that Potter deserved some more time whereas I think JT should not have his contract renewed now. Prior to the Robbie incident and how that has been handled I would have thought JT had to make the 8 this year and have a decent season next year to be retained. I think now though it's better to just move him on.

In '05? Hodgson, Marshall and Prince ran the team. He knew his role and stuck to it. If he did that now he'd still be in the team.
