How does 7 news know the details of the Contract of a player and a Club and the negotiations of the new Club…?

maybe the club leaked it

How is all the stuff on here obtained?

so you reckon the club leaks damaging stuff about itself a few days out from an important game . For what benefit ?

I doubt it'd be the next club . whats in it for them to put s#%t on the WTs ?

who could it be then ?

7 Sports have said that the club is trying to get the clubs that wantFarah to pay the money that he was owed for deferring payment. WTs only want to pay $300,000
They must be in dreamland,
Farah says that his current contract to be negotiated, is for 750, 000
The rest is owed separately.
They don't seem to be too interested in him really going , or are they just dumb to expect him to swallow that.

This is all one big chess game involving 3 parties… Let's hope Pascoe calls checkmate soon

cant play chess with 3 parties .

Just sayin …

at least not very fairly. Have been notorious cases of helpers up in stands giving hand signals, or ear plugs in long hair - so now live coverage is delayed by half hour with players shielded off. With Farah's manager there will not be a checkmate against RF but a draw is the likely outcome or resignation by WT.

coincidentally today is the anniversary of Bobby Fischer becoming world chess champion in 1972 … but you probably already knew that ...

It was a joke, we all know that anything that needs someone to blame will always only be the fault of one ( or two) people, it's written into the WTs constitution that Farah and Ayoub is the dastardly pair that causes anything that goes wrong,
If he goes, next year is going to be interesting watching where all blame is placed for anything and everything around the club. But no doubt someone will be on the end of it.

thanks but have had an extremely busy forty six years since then to remember anything. But significant milestone that year played my first chess club game and defeated a state champ. Was just reading how they are wearing purple socks on weekend's game a Farah initiative to raise awareness of the cancer that took his mother and B Marshall's dad. Apparently RF will be in attendance for that occasion and to watch the game as well presumably.

Sam Dastardly and his sidekick Robbie

I do wonder if it is indeed greed or bloody mindedness on Robbies camp's behalf or just bad timing that is causing the issue.

WTs probably have done their salary cap calculations for next year and need Robbie to leave on their terms. The trouble is that the club's that are interested in Robbie no doubt have as well and may only be able to fit him in for a cut-price sum. It may be a case of no-one can afford him under their cap.

Groundhog Day anyone?

Ha, trying to hold influence over a club before he even signs.. typical. If Farah went to a new club I would've thought he would take a back seat and just play.. Maybe that really is just too hard for him..

Must be fact if its reported in the daily telegraph lol.

According to Paws it's a reputable source

You'd be all over it if it were reporting the re-signing of ET. No double standards whatsoever!

Even then I'd be dubious and would look to alternative sources to confirm!

The club is leaking it or they've made it up ? I suppose it's one of those two options.

For me, whether or not the club can afford to pay Robbie out, I think the club has dealt with Robbie in an embarrassing manner. Whether Robbie plays first grade or not is besides the point for me. If you go off what happened last year when Robbie's issues with JT/Club first broke out and he was threatened with State Cup relegation if he doesn't go, you would have to be a moron not to think that Robbie playing State Cup this year was always going to happen.

If I was Pascoe, I would have sat down with Robbie and Ayoub and said, "Robbie we're going to let you play 250 games, we're going to give you a huge farewell but we can only pay you in installments. If you insist on the lump sump payment, you'll play reserve grade." Im guessing Robbie would take the installments because playing 250 games and the farewell would mean more to him.

I think that would have been a better way of handling things than what we have now.

If they did what you suggest then they'd expose themselves to successful legal action from Farah. They can't use the threat of reserve grade as a bargaining chip in negotiations like that. That's why Reddy got axed and Taylor got told to pull his head in. Whatever is going on behind the scenes that cannot be a public reason, nor a reason they tell Farah.

when RF is still playing excellent footie why should he have to find another club? Surely it is the club's job to find alternative offers for him. Surely clubs' hierarchy chat between each other horse trading? Farah wanting to go to a club with premiership chances is fair enough, he is a SOO and Oz rep player. The salary cap problem is not his responsibility nor is the back-ending. If he had gone lazy on the field it would be a different matter but was still topping the tackle count, scoring tries etc.

The club have said they'll keep him on in 2017 and honour his contract. He's free to negotiate elsewhere if he wishes.

If the club said you cannot be here in 2017, then they may have an obligation to find him alternative employment but as it stands the club is prepared to have him here next year and honour his contract if he chooses to stay.

I'm not sure it's greed, if all parties agreed to a sum, then that's what he would expect to get paid. I would if it was me and you would if it was you?

I agree that WT have done the sums and that's a big reason for RF departure, but I think the reason why other clubs have offered relative amounts is because we did a horrible job in the offering of RF.

Going by reports, if JT had of handled the player management better and the club handled the overall offering better this would have been done and dusted and we possibly would have seen the end of it.

I'm a RF fan but I don't have a problem with the club moving him on that's just the game, I have questions over the handling of the departure by all parties RF and crew included.

I can't see this going on for much longer - anyway I hope not.

My sentiments exactly. If It's just paperwork that's holding this up, I would be cracking the whip over the accounts department. They have had two years to work out the balance sheet and the RF exit plan.

There are reports that the Wests Tigers have insufficient funds to make a lump-sum termination payment to Robbie Farah.

The club is seeking to make periodic payments instead, with the amount to be paid remaining a subject of contention between the Wests Tigers and his future club.

The Rabbitohs have largely been the frontrunners in the race to sign Farah, with the Sharks also reportedly expressing interest following the retirement of Michael Ennis at season's end.

I guess Farah has a contract, so it is either hang around and get your money the usual way in 2017 or leave and take instalments for a year or two. Either way he will get his money and i am sure if he agrees to instalments there will be a interest clause.

Of course this might be a last ditch effort to squeeze some extra cash out of his new club by our mob. Anyway I expect it to be done and dusted bt early next week if not sooner

Farah will not want to languish in State Cup for all of 2017\. He will have to come to terms with the club no matter how much it pains him to do so.

Just go already. Show some dignity, however minute. And the club should never deal with Ayoub again, ever!

I read that Benji is now doing his own negotiating. He doesn't want an agent at all and really believes that he can do a much better job than an agent ever would. Take note Robbie, your agent has brought you and the your club down all for the sake of your agent's quest for a huge commission for himself.

Robbie, Ayoub and Weidler are all grubs. They are all unprofessional and have continually tried to play this ordeal in the public view.

Robbie is not entitled to a lump sum payment. Nor is he being terminated.

He can take his pay check the same way everyone else does. How he receives his money has no impact on his ability to sign for another club. Only when he can spend his money

Did Manly give Ballin a full payout in advance upon him leaving? Did Souths do it for Tim Grant? Penrith with Elijah Taylor? I highly doubt it, because that's simply not how it's done. Not just with us, but for all clubs.

Maybe super rich clubs like the Broncos just pay upfront so they don't have to worry about it anymore, but there's certainly no obligation to do so.

Don't understand where this lump sum crap is coming from. Never heard of any player being released from club A to club B with club A paying him a lump sum amount. Paying part of his salary, that's a different story, but paying him all at once? Some of the crap being spewed and endorsed you couldn't make up.
