Robbie, Ayoub and Weidler are all grubs. They are all unprofessional and have continually tried to play this ordeal in the public view.

Robbie is not entitled to a lump sum payment. Nor is he being terminated.

He can take his pay check the same way everyone else does. How he receives his money has no impact on his ability to sign for another club. Only when he can spend his money

Did Manly give Ballin a full payout in advance upon him leaving? Did Souths do it for Tim Grant? Penrith with Elijah Taylor? I highly doubt it, because that's simply not how it's done. Not just with us, but for all clubs.

Maybe super rich clubs like the Broncos just pay upfront so they don't have to worry about it anymore, but there's certainly no obligation to do so.

Don't understand where this lump sum crap is coming from. Never heard of any player being released from club A to club B with club A paying him a lump sum amount. Paying part of his salary, that's a different story, but paying him all at once? Some of the crap being spewed and endorsed you couldn't make up.

Yeah exactly, Weidler's created this lie to throw the club in a bad light. He's probably hoping no one will actually think about the details of what has been reported, but when that happens and you take a step back and think - Hey, since when are players paid in a lump sum? Then the story starts to look completely dumb. As I've always assumed, clubs in this situation contribute to the players salary (over the course of the contract) I would think.. Not all upfront.

By the end of today, Robbie Farah will most likely have his future confirmed. The long-running saga has boiled down to a decision between the Rabbitohs and Sharks, both of whom have made a two-year offer.

Farah was privately leaning toward Cronulla a few weeks ago, but the late mail is that he’ll now finish-up at Redfern. The key is securing a release from the Tigers, which he hopes will be finalised by this afternoon.

Farah’s camp met with club officials and the RLPA yesterday. Talks centered on a stand-off over how much the Tigers are willing to contribute to Farah’s new deal.

He’s owed $950,000 for the final 12 months of his four-year contract at Concord. However, we’ve been told that $250,000 of that sum is made up of back payments from money Farah agreed to postpone in order to help the club manage its salary cap.

Farah’s therefore maintains negotiations with rival clubs should proceed on the basis that his salary for next year is only $700,000\. It’s a convincing argument.

The Tigers are only willing to contribute a maximum of $350,000 – and want Farah’s next club to stump up the remaining $600,000\. But neither the Sharks nor Rabbitohs feel they should be liable for Farah’s back payments, which have already been earned over the first three years of his contract.

Farah has also made noises about a lack of concern for his welfare during a difficult season, which culminated with him being axed to NSW Cup in July. He claims the Tigers welfare department made no effort to contact him until prompted.

If proven that could have consequences, given an RLPA survey unearthed serious welfare issues at the club last year.

We don't know the exact hold up , But I think the lump sum money they are referring to is overdue money owed from before , so yes if it is over due he is 100 percent correct in asking for it in full then the 2 clubs work out who pays what and he would get paid as normal for 2017 onwards , I'm hearing he is owed $ 200 k from before and he wants it before he does a deal for his future

If true, it gives context to RF's comments about the Club honouring his contract. For a player the Club wants to be rid of quickly, they sure are making it difficult for him to leave. It is of interest now the RLPA is involved.

How so? At the end of the day the club still needs to ensure that the balance of his salary next year is no less than what is being paid by his new club with the shortfall being made up by us.

One thing I will say: I had a think about it and I actually think that the club should give him a lump sum payment for the deferred monies. The rest can be doled out in instalments but I think that club should meet him halfway on that and pay his deferred cash out immediately. Interesting that it is billed we don't want to carry more than $350K, that's a very optimistic outcome.

He isn't 'owed money from before'
He agreed to back end his contract so that other players could sign or re-sign with the club. That money which went to other players was listed on that years salary cap.

Farah's money, which he agreed to back end, now has to be paid this year and next - all of which is in our listed salary cap for this year and next.

Although not wanted by us for 2017, or should I say the coaching staff, it is not unreasonable to expect another club to contribute around 500,000 towards his contract. He is no rookie and is the current NSW no9 and I would imagine 90% of experienced players who play in the spine would receive this sort of money or more.

Anyway with two clubs in the hunt, I am sure our bargaining position is slightly stronger than it was a while ago

If we only had to fork out 350k for him next yr then happy days. Should ensure that we're able to wrap up ET or another signing, if not both.

Is this the mysterious RLPA survey from 18 moths ago that is yet to see the light of day or the Sam Ayoub shame file that has also lingering in the shadows…

Oh ...7th tackle.... Massoud the other sock puppet...

It says a lot about your moral compass that the money the club wants to cut out is the amount owed from previous years.

It says a lot about you that you're willing to see the club go under to have to fork out the entire contract. As long as he gets 950, what is it to you where it comes from?

There is no money 'owed' from previous years - both parties agreed to a restructuring of the contract.
He's due $950k next year, and the club is naturally trying to minimise their cap hit for 2017 in paying as little as possible. Farah will get his $950k either way, it's just a question of which clubs pay with proportion.

Depends on which side the argument you sit. RF believes his salary next year is $700,000.

What Farah believes is irrelevant, it’s what is on his 2017 contract lodged with the NRL and his tax returns lodged with the ATO says.

Whatever it is this year WT are definitely getting good value having him in reserve grade. They know that even in reserve grade that other clubs totally respect him as a FG player and that they are just playing silly buggers with our semi final chances.

Thank you Vlad, a good laugh. I haven't seen that skit for years.

There appears to be a few John Cleese's on here.
No there isn't!
Yep, there are.

Isn't it a four year contract? You could probably guarantee his manager would be across it.
