What really do you think Farah will do …what would you do for One Million dollars a year when you only have to work for 30 mins a week and this guy has the balls to want a job after he retires ,bleed the club dry ,destroys any chance of signing any quality players to make a play for any finals appearance and some here actually think this is a good thing well good for you! This guy has been destroying this club for years..

Geez Snake
Its well documented Benji and Robbie took less when they were worth more.. And that was to help the club.

Poor Robbie will get more daggers aimed at him when he retires..
I feel for the bloke

The irony is that backended deal allowed the club to retain other players and remain under the cap. Now the club are banking on Farah again to help them out to retain ET.
Pascoe will need to be very measured when negotiating with Farah in light of what happened about this time last year.

Farah should do the right thing his employer has stated that his services are no longer required ,they have assured him he will be paid what he is owed regardless .What does this tell you about the man ,he has no regard for this club he has again as usual got his nose out of joint and will just sit back and cruise to the end of next season .It amuses me when many keep bringing up the money HELLO he is going to get his money it is not about money it is all about him as usual!

What did i miss .?

This forum will always stand divided on Robbie Farah

Some will support him and what he has done for us whilst the others wont.

The one thing that i dont get is what has he done so wrong to deserve so much hate from those who dont like the bloke.

So he walks away and our our cap is $900k short, yeh a real smart move for the club, we might need him on the field next year.
Any how he has earnt the right to stay and play or do what ever he wants, if the coach hadn't tried to flex his ego then this probably wouldn't have been an issue.

I'll be glad when this is all in the past, I have never seen anybody polarise people like Robbie has.
There is no grey area they either hate him or love him, no middle ground.

Awesome updates TT, once again thanks very much for your comments. The Farah saga is what we need to sort out. Can't blame the bloke sticking around to received 950k next year, I know I would but options would start to open for the club if he moved on to another club.

I'm very interested to see the development of some of our juniors. If it's a case of losing either Brooks or Moses, I'd prefer to lose Moses for the simple fact we have Veiru Mapesone performing strongly in NYC/State Cup and he's also come on in leaps and bounds with his goalkicking. He has a good build and isn't afraid the take the line on.

It would be nice to JAC somehow get out of his contract with the Storm but it sounds like that boat has sailed. Maybe he signed too early…

It's ludicrous that our player signings and player retentions all come down to one player being payed overs .

And what scares me the most is that Farah wants a role within the club once his playing days are over :unamused:

I think Farah has a lot to offer any NRL team on or off the field. The guy is tertiary qualified and has played the game for over a decade at the highest level. He could take on a admin role or he could take on a coaching role. Make him defensive coach, would have to be better than Kidwell

I can see him as a Mark Bouris type - points the finger " you're fired ".

[shrugs] I've always been middle ground. Liked him a player, though that has naturally declined. I also support his decision to stay if he wants. I just hate it when he lets Ayoub plant destabilising stories in the press.

I'm not sure I understand how Farah walking away and still getting paid out his contract helps the club out. Won't that money still come out of our salary cap for next year?

Great read, thanks TT for the updates its much appreciated

A few points/questions though

. Has the coaching staff ever considered putting Kev back at wing and possibly putting Helata at centre or anyone else?

. If JAC has formally told Melbourne he doesn't want to go, you'd think especially a club like Melbourne who aren't struggling would come to discussions and let him leave. If he does the unlikely and stays with Ryan P coming through the ranks who would make way between Simona and Kev whom are both young blokes?

. With the Farah situation, people would be lying if they would say they would leave and possibly move to England or Newcastle. Farah is entitled to stay and remain a one club player, captain and premiership winner. Show some respect to the bloke, I honestly feel for the man, he's done nothing wrong

. Is Curtis Sironen likely to get a call up soon?

. Who do you think coaches etc; feel is the better half between Moses and Brooks, having to pick one who would be most likely picked to stay?

. Good to hear the Gower rumours have cooled down…. Don't rate him tbh

. Who would be most likely to take over Taylor if he did get the sack, are we still interested in Cleary?

.Good to hear about ET!

Would be great if you could clarify some of these points, if that's possible. Love ya work TT!

I havent commented on the whole Robbie Farah saga mainly because I'm not 100% sure on the full facts. We're only getting reports from the Tele and from most on here who act like they have the facts. I couldnt trust either for facts so it was easier to keep my opinions to myself.

What we do know is that Robbie was in negotiations for this current contract he is in, most on here were in the fetal position and ready to lose their minds at the thought of Robbie playing elsewhere. At the time, Robbie was by far and away the number 1 hooker in the game and the most exciting hooker to watch.

It's common knowledge that for Robbie to stay, he would have to sign a backended deal so the club can stay under the cap and for him to get paid what he was worth at the time. Please, everyone, re-read that last sentence.

Everyone was happy that Robbie stayed and everyone was ok with him being paid much less than what he was worth to stay at the club. Admittedly, his form 2 years ago was Robbie in his prime and he was blowing teams away. Fast forward to today, now that Robbie is closer to retirement than when he debuted and his form isnt up to his usual standards (which is still better than most hookers running around) now most people are happy to see him go. How is this fair to Robbie who took a pay cut to stay loyal to the club? We got the best of Robbie and paid unders for it. Dont you think that the only fair thing now is that we pay Robbie what is owed to him and let him finish his time at the club on his terms?

Loyalty is something everyone has been crying for claiming that it has been lost to the game. Isnt loyalty a two way street? Robbie showed his loyalty to the club and I think the club should show that same loyalty back. Im an old school kind of bloke and I've always believe regardless of whether it's popular or not but what's right is right. If we shook Robbie's hand and got the best out of him for less then the club should give him the best and receive less from Robbie now in return.

I believe we should stop shopping him around, honor the contract we signed with him and let him finish his time here on his terms, It's just the right thing to do.

Most on here will throw the perception of Robbie that he is way too involved in the locker room politics at the club and so on. Now, I'll state that I have no knowledge or proof but it's just a thought that has always come into my head and I'll finish my post with this…..

Robbie started clashing with Sheens when Sheens bought Johnny Morris and Jamahl Lolesi and started making crazy team selections and was convinced he can create players.

Robbie started clashing with Potter when he wouldnt make changes to the team when we were getting pumped.

Robbie started clashing with JT when JT was forcing Taylor Ball and now JT has thrown Taylor ball out the window they are getting along professionally.

Coincidence?

Yes.
Ayoub is Farahs employee, yet when Ayoub comes out taking swipes and making threats against the club, having a go at coaches and admin…..and farah sits back and says nothing, that imo is an endorsement of his managers words.
If farah thinks this is smart, hes a fool, all it does is paint him in a poorer light and causes more division within the club
He needs to tell his mouthpiece to sthu and put a sock in it

- I got out as far as "Robbie was out and out the best hooker in the game in 2012-2013…."
I didn't need to read any more after that.

It's a poor post Chris full of inaccuracies with your opinions dressed up as facts.

We owe Farah nothing, the club has always maintained he will be paid out in full.

Your news as always TT is welcomed by me and many others even if i dont necessarily like it.For the life of me i couldnt see Uate as an asset especially at his price tag, hopefully nothing comes of it

After reading TT's comments on Farah and Taylors so called rift, its good to see they have a strong professional relationship even if their personal relationship is frosty. So with that in mind I have no problem at all with Farah seeing out his contract next year. Firstly he is holding a contract that the club entered into with Farah that is legally binding and Farah is entitled to every cent, secondly he is the best no9 in the club and thirdly he deserves to be a one club player after showing us so much loyalty over the years.

Okay it might screw our cap, but that is not Farah's fault. Its funny how after a pretty successful six weeks we start getting plenty of positive vibes. The old saying a winning team is a happy team

I only share what I know to be true at least at that point in time - many issues remain in flux. I try to refrain from sharing unsourced rumours and my only biased opinions - which I declare when I let down my guard. Anyway here's what I know regarding your questions:
Kevvie to wing not on the radar, decision made in pre-season that he would play centre or not at all.
Helata working hard in sprint training, but hard to find a hole for him at the moment, not withstanding salary cap constraints that will keep him out of NRL team in 2016\. Ryan Papenhuyzen considered long term centre from 2018, Kevvie unlikely to be with the club by then. Kevvie will be 27 by then.
JAC I've shared all I know to be true, nothing else to add except my personal opinion that I think this was handled poorly whilst Pascoe was away from work dealing with personal matters. In short we left our run too late. He will be a star for Melbourne even though I know he would prefer to remain here - he's extremely close to his extended family all based in Sydney / NSW.
Sirro is impressing everyone with his new found attitude and Aloiai now under renewed pressure, Unlikely changes will be made but Chee Ham & Sirro are both close, Halatau will not be dropped. Sirro can still look elsewhere despite taking up the contract option in his favour, perhaps a change at the end of season. technically he wsa not resigned but took up an option in his favour.
Moses shading Brooks based on a better pre-season, and his fierce competiveness. To Taylor's credit he welcomes Moses standing up to him re game plans, they actually have a good / improving relationship.
Coach Taylor is growing in the role and O'Neill despite my skepticism has made a difference.
Cleary still preferred Board back up option, but Taylor continues to enjoy full Board support. Pascoe has been transparent - perform and you're safe, fail and you're gone. Pascoe will ultimately shape the clubs future with his new strategic plan ( he's still working under the plan he inherited)
That's it for now nothing else of substance to share.

That's outright wrong: the club has stated that it will honour Farah's contract if he doesn't leave - which it has no choice but to do, quite frankly. It has categorically not said that it will still pay him if he leaves.

Farah has clearly not been able to find anyone else who will pay him what the Tigers are contracted to do, so he is exercising his right to be paid what the club agreed to pay him. Why should he walk away from his contracted salary just because his employer was run by a bunch of halfwits three years ago?

I never understand why fans reliably take the side of management in these disputes. Farah negotiated and was given this contract, and he's doing his best to earn it on the field. If he's no longer 'worth' the dollar value, that's not his fault. If no-one else will match the contract, that's not his fault. If he hasn't found anywhere he'd rather play than the Tigers, that's quite possibly also not his fault.
