Favourite Campbelltown Stadium Moment

Bit obscure, but the Round 14 clash, 2005, against the Sharks. It was a Friday Night game, we ended up beating them 36-18, something like that, with Marshal, Ritchards and Hodgeson all getting doubles.

I don't know why, but it was the first time I felt we were an awesome team. I've loved the Tigers since I was a baby following Balmain, but being born in 1990, I've never seen them really experience any widespread success. I think the following week we got pumped by the Bronco's and then went had that amazing 8-game winning streak which got us into the top 4.

Anyway, great memories from that night.

It was very much a night where it all came together and we could start to see that things were coming heading in the right direction.

I remember that win followed comprehensive losses to the Warriors and then the Storm, if we had of lost that, it would of been 3 losses on the trot with 4 the following week to Brisbane. I think it would of also been 8 losses in 10 matches if we lost that night.
I remember thinking it just gave me some hope that our defence was coming together even though it was against a poor attacking outfit.

By the way my favourite Campbelltown moment would of been earlier that year when Benji put that HUUUUUUGE step on Marshall Chalk I think against the Raiders from a scrum win. Had the perfect view of it happening right in front of me sitting on the little hill at the northern end.

Certainly beat the previous game I went to at Campbelltown, when we were down 40-0 at half time against the Roosters.

O5 v Cowboys. Record crowd, sunny day, Skando scoring, guaranteed semi… brilliant.

Smashing the Warriors 50-6 in 2010\. From memory it was 10-6 at half time, or thereabouts. the second half was awesome.

And, a couple where we have hung on in close matches eg Knights in 09.

I enjoy strolling around the ground or sitting on the hill by myself, quietly observing the other patrons. It's a most enthralling experience, especially on that southern hill.

Perhaps the strangest moment last year was when I walked into the alco-free area. The security guard assigned to stop people entering with beers wasn't at his post, instead he had his face against the rock wall, down on his knees praying to mecca or something. Everyone was just walking straight past him.

@kul the irony in that last post re the security guard is so funny!!

Ive been going to campbelltown since my dad took me out as a kid abd ventured out bush to from inner west since 87\. I remember the old wooden grandstand and picking up old raffle tickets hoping i would win something. On field moment would be andrew willis field goal in 96… I also remember wt v storm in 2008

Not a favourite memory but one game that sticks in my mind is when we played Melbourne in the early 2000s and just got absolutely hammered by the officials all day. Lost something like 34-16\. Hoppa got cited for some record number of incidents from a single game. Worst refereeing for a WT game apart from Shayne Hayne butchering us against Canberra.

My favourite memory of Campbelltown was taking a bunch of kids from two lower rated clubs and watching them win the premiership. The dressing sheds have changed a lot from the earlier days . The playing surface was like carpet .

Remember going to see a Magpies Tigers stand alone reserve grade game one year when the sprinklers suddenly came on during the game

But for me its the Cowboys game where we secure a semi for the first time, sunshine, on the hill, magpies strip…FINALLY...finally we'd made the semis...seemed like eternity coming but was only 6 years

Wasn't there a game back in the Maggies dayz where a player ran the length of the field and put the ball down on the 10m line instead of the tryline?

Only been to C'town once. The win over Penrith when Benji carried little Lleyton around after the game and all the players treated him like a King. Still tear up when I think about it. Great stuff!

People alwayz talk about that moment, but the moment that sticks out for me even more when i think of that little guy was when he lead them out in the pre-lim final against the Dragons. It showed that they just didn't have that moment at C'town and forget about him. It was pretty awesome looking up at the big screen and seeing him come around the corner holding Farah's hand. I don't know but for some reason i get a lump in my throat thinking about that
