Fifita to Bulldogs from 2015

Andrew Fifita is set to announce where he is signing for in 2015 tomorrow and the late mail is that he is going to sign a $3m deal to join the Doggies.

This is a bad move from the Doggies in my opinion, they already have a wealth of talent in the forwards, what they are missing is some higher quality halves and outside backs…

I also think Fifita has probably peaked, I have a hunch he might have a bit of a slump in the next few years, so $3m on him is a huge risk... Just look at what happened when they signed Tony Williams on big money..

I for the life of me don't understand how/why the Dogs are in the running here. We need exactly what he offers and have a far less impressive side on paper. We should be able to straight up outbid them on him. Unless he is actively avoiding us but I can't see why he would be when Sheens and Marshall are gone?

Really? You think any player wants to come to side right now?

Weren't you last week saying we'll be lucky to still be in the comp in 2 yrs due to finances, now you're saying theres no reason we can't pay a guy close to a million a yr?

There is absolutely NO way i would be happy with the club paying 850k a season for a prop

Yeah it's a poor choice, especially with the gun pack they already have.

I would also take into consideration that they have already signed Tony WIlliams on 600k who has turned out to be a dud. Imagine Fifita turns out a dud and they have wasted 1.5 million dollars.

Bulldogs are becoming the Roosters , somehow getting every player they desire .
Gee we must be paying massive money to keep our Juniors cause all we seem to sign players unwanted by other clubs . There has to be some sort of money under our cap , to make a play for players such as Fafita

Yeah and apparently it is a done deal with Michael Lichaa too!

That's a lot of money plus his just chasing the money. There are saying they are going to release some of there players so we should hopefully be in talks with the ones there going to release.

Fifita is on report after a shoulder charge in tonight's game. Not sure if he faces the same suspension as SBW.

Could be a good opportunity for us if they're throwing 750K at Fifita. The club should be inquiring about the likes of Graham or Kasiano.

Well I figure we're capable of paying salaries up to the point of our salary cap since that is an amount that's budgeted for right?

Yeah that's true I to be honest. 750k is overs for a prop even in the revised salary cap and even if it's arguably the best in the game at the moment.

The bulldogs aren't stupid. They're not getting Fafita just to lose Graham or Kasiano. They'll just release a few others that will tally up to Fafita's first year.

It's funny you know , we have a salary cap but the comp seems to have become a comp between the haves and have nots

Name any year since 1908 that wasn't between the haves & the have nots?

Totally agree , but let's not try and let the NRL try and convince us otherwise

Yeah and apparently it is a done deal with Michael Lichaa too!

It's what the Wests Tigers do best. They sign players not wanted by other clubs then talk them up like they are going to be superstars.

Simona resigned before his good run last year so I guess maybe 300k and Woods having recently resigned and being chased by Manly could be around 500k.

The dogs signed one of their juniors Klemmer for 333k last year. None of our young juniors would be close to that. Lovett Sironen Brown Moses Tedesco Noffaluma and Brooks were resigned early in their NRL carers. Those players in total wouldn't equal Farah's $900k a year.

Now the dogs sign Lichaa and Fafita. How can they manage their cap so well and we manage ours so badly.
I wonder if Mayer is using all the salary cap ? How could he be ?
