Finals Week 3 2019..*Spoilers..

Gerard Sutton is such a poor poor referee, but yeah his brother is the boss.

I believe Matt Chechin is v unpopular with the Suttons, but I still think (and I believe popular opinion agrees) that he's the best ref going around.

Slim pickings for 2nd best, but I can cop Ben Cummins, even if he diabolically penalised Nofo for that "voluntary PTB" against Sharks (Brandy made reference to it again on the weekend because a player was NOT penalised for doing the same thing).

Good news at least is Bernie Sutton is out on his arse after this year.

Raiders to spoil the party in OT after Keary falls flat on his face with the line wide open & Gronk his the cross bar with shot at field goal.

Well, let's hope not.

They should run a fan poll to choose the referee

Raiders by 7.......

There's a guy who put down 100k on the Roosters +6.5 who will go into cardiac arrest if the Raiders win by 7.

I do believe the " weight of expectation " is getting to some Roosters fans, even Uncle Nick and Mark Bouris are saying stuff in paper. From the outside this would look like they are ' very nervous"

IF it WAS tigers playing... i would be in hospital for multiple nerve related issues 😳

Raiders up by a try most of the match, Sticky makes a couple of late interchanges, Rorters score a late try to even the scores. Raiders hit the cross bar with a field goal attempt and go into Golden Point only to lose by a try to the Rorters a few minutes in.

Honest question

Are there any ex-Balmain supporters who genuinely hate the Raiders because of 89? Speaking for myself, the most heartbreaking game I've watched was the Roosters final in 2010. We lead 16-2 I think it was, then the elation of the Dwyer hit that seemingly won us the game when they came back. Then the scrum and the field goal from the sideline. I saw highlights of that game last week when the NRL Facebook page posted it. Still, almost 10 years later, it hurt watching that. So, I get that that game would still be super sensitive. I hate the Roosters, but have never hated them for that game. I don't get why there would be hate for the Raiders.

No issue with the Raiders, granted I was only 4 at the time though, probably a little young to be hating on people.

Absolutely not. It was a classic. Shattering, but fair given we just couldn't put them away. And I don't blame the coach like most do as well. I loved Kevin Hardwick. It made sense to bring him on. He was a machine in defence. Didn't work out though. I still like the Raiders except when they play us.

I'm still shi##y at the penalty against McGuire when he tapped the ball forward and ran, Walters ran from behind (offside) and obstructed McGuire, was deemed a shepherd by Harrigan. It should have been a Tigers penalty, that's how I remember it anyway.

Living in Canberra, made it even tougher. No hate for Canberra, they played well and took their chances, we didn't.

Hope they can beat the Roosters.

@GNR4LIFE I did. I hated them for a long time. I live in Canberra though, so I get that bloody 'green Machine' song too often. The 50 point floggings, the 2 golden point losses in one year. Oh yeah, I hated them, they were the one team we just had to beat.

It's only just been this year I could finally forgive them for being luckier than us on that day. Penrith (or more specifically their coach) has taken that spot for me now.

Woops, another diabolical decision from Ben Cummins, well done.

I don’t hate the Raiders, I hate Bill Harrigan for blowing a penalty that was never called before or after that game. I’ve never watched a replay, I just can’t do it. If it comes on the telly I have to change the channel. I was at the game in 89 so I’ve never seen more than a few snippets here or there.

I also don’t blame the Wok. The decision made sense at the time and Kevin Hardwick was an ace defender. I feel bad for him that the criticism of replacing Roach and Siro can possibly be taken as an insult to him and whoever else came on (I want to say Michael Pobije) but I can’t bring myself to confirming that.

I feel a little embittered that if there was the interchange rule as it exists now we would have won. It was soul destroying and things were never the same after that.

Thanks Jad. I’m reliant on my memory 30 years on. Good ole Mick Pobije - people think our outside backs are slow!
