LIVE GAME Finals Week 3 Preliminary Discussion *Spoilers*

Live Game Discussion
Hes 100% correct though.
The decoy had no chance to run through the line as he was tackled - without the ball. He didn’t bump into the defender and obstruct him, the defender made a decision and drove into him with his shoulder.
Clear try based upon a poor defensive read.
Yeah I know.... Just wondering if he'd have been so vocal about it had it been the other way around and the Sharks denied
He's usually boring as bat crap in pressers... He made sure they didn't miss what he wanted to get across... As someone else mentioned he was fine with the try off the forward pass they scored

I was at the game and after the first set of the second half he took 4 tackles to get back behind the ball after the Panthers kick. Last one by a mile
Don't worry the Wests Tigers intensive pre-season training regime will see him taking at least a full set to get back onside. 🤣

Not wrong, the sort of thing I'd be searing about if it happened to us.....I mean what a joke.

The Panthers don't seem to get the same impact from their backrow anymore.........seems to have taken the edge off Cleary a tad and even had our guy Luai a bit lateral.

I hope benji noticed.
Martin was a bit out of sorts last night. Early head knock and not having Sorenson who has struggled with injury all year has hurt them a bit. Between Martin and Garner last night there were plenty of errors.

Yes it played a big part.
Penrith aren’t great mudders.
Looked at the 7 day forecast. Looks like a dry track for the GF.
Gonna be one fast game with a lot of ball movement from both.
They absolutely do not perform well in the wet. It is the biggest chink in their armour, but as you say the forecast looks good for next weekend.

The Sharks game plan was never going to be good enough to beat Penrith. You have to play football and score points and apply scoreboard pressure.

Riff were ripe for this the taking last night but the Sharks through a very negative approach didn’t cause Riff to much concern.

Not writing Riff off but the Storm must be hot favs for next week

Facts man.

I see a bit of Simon Dwyer in him.
Put some belief behind him & he'll be a star.

Defo the type of player we need.
I think he's primarily a 2RF but can do a job at prop and lock too.

Like to see him in the 17 next year after a big pre season.
Big Tim is one I am really looking forward to seeing progress (hopefully) next year. I would be challenging him to be a prop intimidator and leader of the pack. Give him a program to follow, he needs to put on some more beef, practice and dominate in the wrestle, and learn to get up really quickly. But this next season I would make his game really simple, run hard, tackle hard, intimidate, and try to hurt people so they are scared of him, next the offload.
I reckon he looks like he has it in him.
A home-grown prop forward leader is just what we need.

I would say the Storm might win comfortably except for one thing, Penrith’s defence - it’s second to none, especially on the goal line. I guess it comes down to that age old question of what will win it in the end, great attack or equally great defence 🤔

I don’t think the GF will be going the way Joey just said it would.
Melbourne are a red hot side who are hungry.
Penrith are an elite side who will be playing on emotion as favourite sons are leaving.
I wouldn’t be surprised if both sides score 5 tries and it’s an end to end marathon.
I wonder how much they'll miss NAS though. He is a bull of a man.

Which is why they should have awarded them to the runners up retrospectively. You can’t have two premiers in the same year. Much better than just an asterisk.
I get your point but disagree. In 2009 as the example Broncos and manly both got knocked out of the finals by Storm. They have as much right to say they were cheated out of their premiership chance as eels. Even we were denied 8th spot by them finishing above us. As unlikely as it would have been we were denied a chance at going on eels like run through the finals.

Simon Dwyer is a big wrap. He was a genuine gun. Hope he meets these expectations.

He needs to put on more weight. Maybe an overseas trip back home to Ze Land of Chocolate will help him with that and turn him into McBain.

Next week will be interesting with Klien on the whistle. Every week he is terrible, shows very little interest in the rules of the game. Has his own ideas on how the game should be played and makes calls from his book of rules.

My guess he will pick the winner early and ride them home

The Panthers first final against the Roosters is the team that will come out next week. Last night they just did what they need to do.

Penrith continually winning comps isn't good for the NRLs ideas that the salary cap creates an even comp year after year
People tend to give Riff a bit of slack when it comes to their amazing record. They have built up the club relying on home grown talent and a hard edge culture. They have noted cheated the cap and have been forced to let players go.

I think the run might be coming to a end after This year but they will be still a competitive side
