Folau needs to re read the bible

The Bible isn't into TATTOO's ......Izzy

Looks like you'll be burning in the fires everlasting as well ......

@happy_tiger  "The Dangler" was the name of someone who was a flasher that (many believed ) used to hang around an old unused air strip of an evening in the Northern Suburbs of Wollongong back in the 80's. It was a grassy kind of parkland between Bellambi and Woonona that lots of us kids had to navigate on our way to and from training. We all feared the dangler for obvious reasons.

Ever live in The Gong Hap?

@happy_tiger I’m not surprised to see your well read mate. The Bible does say to not tattoo your body.

I’m not sure if it helps, but let me try explain Folau’s post from a Bible point of view...

oh no even I rolled me eyes writing this... here we go again 😳

The Bible is clear that people are sinners.

Today Australians don’t see themselves as sinners

The Bible describes different sins, one list was the one Folau quoted. All sins boil down to doing it our way rather than Gods way (think Frank Sinatra singing “I did it my way”)

The Bible is clear that sin has a corresponding punishment.

The Bible offers Gods forgiveness if we accept Jesus

Folau DEEPLY believes the above. It’s not relevant if you or I believe the above. The only relevant context is he does. From that context you will see that his crime is not one of hate.

Anyone can repent their sins ......

I don't know how true it is but if his Dad has said what was reported about removing the post ....

I complain about my old man .....that is crazy next level stuff

Isnt everyone else looking forward to when in 1000 years from now the Bible is replaced by the Game of Thrones books as the next religion based on fantasy from books - the gods in that were much more interesting and just as likely to be real as Issy's.

Look he wants to believe in fairy stories then he has as much right as the next bloke but when he uses them to put young men at risk of suicide then the line must be drawn. Of course he has the right to say it, think it and even post about it but that right also includes the right of his employer to choose not have those views represent thier brand and even more so for any new employer not to hire him if they choose not to. Freedom of speech os something people often confuse for freedom of speech without consequence. Freedom of speech is around not being punished by law it isn't about being able to say whatever you want without any consequences at all

My opinion is I don't want Issy from a footy point of view or because of the way he has used his position. From a footy point of view he deliberately left his teams in the shit in the biggest year of some of thier careers and that isn't the bloke you want, he is also 30 and hasnt played Rugby League since 2010 and given his situation has negative benefit in terms of sponsorship - so I don't really see what he brings to our club as a person or a footy player at this stage

“Was reported...” likely says it all mate

@krayola I’m not going to bother going to work today... surely they will read my social media post and fire me.

@Mccarry if anything Folau should be suing the media. They're the ones who blew this well, well out of proportion.

I'm no biblical scholar, but, Leviticus 19:28, which says, ”You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.” is part of the old testament. Izzy is a LDS Mormon, big difference. Although the LDS church forbids tattoos, it is accepted in the church provided you don't add any whilst born again & you are repentant.

Nah he's an AOG Christian now I'm pretty sure.

He was forgiven for his tattoos & sins when he was baptized then - presumably @ his father's church. I've got time 4 Izzy

Sky news is the equivalent of a pop culture tabloid. Utterly useless gutter trash. I wouldn't eveen listen to a word they have to say about sport.

Folau won't play again, and he'll likely end up bankrupt in the process. No sympathy. His decisions.

I just don’t get all the hoopla about his post. I’ve seen thousands of posts that, to me, are far worse.

It’s probably because he didn’t sign off with a smiley face.

... and I’ve never seen myself as a fornicator but I must have been one.

I guess im against the norm id take him in a heart beat. We took packer we let musgrove hang around we resigned chee kam all of which have committed worse acts then izzy.

@hodgo I would too despite being a drunk fornicator. What ever happened to turn the other cheek? damned hypocrites. All these social justice warriors with bleeding hearts and self-serving agendas make me sick. Preaching inclusivity whilst casting aside one of their own. Something tells me we're all going to hell. It's unbelievable.
