It's in their terms and conditions that funds can't be raised for legal fees which they changed in 2015, clearly he didn't read those either...

Not sure why it's good for him to play the victim for the circumstances he created.

As I wrote earlier, the terms and conditions appear to be applied differently if you recall the Egg Boy incident and fundraising for legal fees.

This matter should be decided in court and I am concerned efforts are being made to attempt to avoid a review by an independent body who can impartially adjudicate on the matter.

“So, I’m not too sure if I understand”. He looks at me, I pause wondering how much he knows and if he will continue talking.

“So, Folau offended gay people and lost his job. So he kinda started all this. So now all these other people are saying all this offensive stuff about Christians”

Pauses. Looks at me.

“So will they lose their jobs?”

Many of us freely disagree on this topic.

That said, how good is it how much this whole mess has destroyed Rugby Union credibility and finances!!

Yeah that's been a bit of a bonus

@pawsandclaws1

Might have had something to do with someone else starting that rather than the guy in question, which does seem to be a bit of hair splitting.

How are attempts being made to avoid a review, honestly? Firstly he is perfectly capable of bank rolling his own quest for a $10 million pay day. Secondly, there are other wealthy, interested parties that would happily pay his way if he were actually impecunious. Thirdly, he would probably have had pro bono offers from people looking to get a profile for themselves or otherwise just sympathetic to his cause.
I don't care if he has his day in court, he's entitled to that. I find his cap in hand approach appalling though when plenty of wronged people are actually kept from seeking justice because of a lack of finances.

That’s what I was enjoying. I was hoping for a huge legal battle to drain them of funds as well.

It has been a very long time since Rugby Union has ever had any credibility to destroy in Australia, finances still exist through the "old boy" network

@innsaneink are you anti gofundme platform? Your comment appears apply to all fund raising on there

Dunno why you'd think that.... No, it doesn't apply to all fund raising there... Just folaus

@Nelson Folau chose to use this particular mechanism to fund his costs. I am not privy to his financial position nor do I believe it to be relevant in this case. Adults who agree with his position voluntarily make donations based on their beliefs. No donor is coerced into making donations and from what was reported the target of $3m would easily be reached.

To refuse Folau this mechanism especially after the Egg Boy fundraising via GoFundMe is at best inconsistent but in my view and attempt to frustrate his right to legal remedy.

I don't care much for his views but I would like the ARU's decision to be subject to review.

I want this matter in the court and impartially adju

They would do if they were employed by a sports organisation and had a public profile upon which they pitched their anti-Christian sentiment.
