Four Signings Announced

I think the signings provide great depth, with a couple of potential starters next year. What's Pettybourne's history with injuries? I think he has been out long term a couple of times….

Nooafuluma is the best signing of the 4 in my opinion

Obviously Tim thinks that 34 utility players isn't enough and just to be sure got another :unamused:

Bodene Thompson Could be OK Can play centre or back row

Pettybourne has never really done it for me to be honest he's not the best or the worst Then again I thought the same about Bell and he has been outstanding

bodene thompson could be anything. pettybourne is solid. so much better than buying sonny bill, koder naser & mundine.

And i guess we can forget about Sika Manu.

With the naivety of the media it looks as though we'll be favourites again in 13.

and i also noticed that it takes 2 players to replace Ellis.

Pettyborne could play Prop for us, or be Ellis' replacement. Thompson could mean the end for Moors. Hard to fault the pick-ups- both are young & talented. Tigers forwards have gone from small & mobile to enormous & mobile. Can't be a bad thing.

Anasta will play 5/8 I reckon, with Benji at half, Moltzen at fullback.

I ould hope Tedesco will come straight back in to FG next year which will leave Timmy fighting for a bench spot.

What do you guys think, do these signings spell the end for Utai, Tuqiri, Moors and Heighnington?

Yes, I think you are right. Rihino was linked to Penrith last year and is a Gus Gould type of player.

How long is Koroibete signed for?

Until the end of 2013 I believe.

I hope so because I think he is a must keep. I think he will be starting on the left wing next year and the others will all be fighting for the second wing spot.

The signing of Noofamula is a very good move. I would not re-sign Moltzen as in Tedesco, Ruldoph, Ryan and Noofamula we are set for fullbacks. Moltzen if kept would be for his utilty value only.

I think Eddie Pettybourne has the ability to be a very good player and is a good buy.

Not sure about Thompson, we have some talented back rowers in the 20's and I think 2-3 of them will end up much better players than Thomson. Hope he was cheap because I can see a lot of NSW cup for him next year.

I think this will mean that Heighintion leaves the club with next years backrow being:

11\. Blair
12\. Fulton
13\. Anasta ( I think we have a numer of good young halves and one of them will partner Marshall next year. We brought Anasta as a starter and I think it will be at lock with him doing a lot of our long kicks in general play)

14\. BMM
15\. Pettybourne
16\. Reserve prop
17\. Utllty/ another prop

So with the young 20s winger singing on, I think that will mean the end of Lote.
Ed Pettybourne I like. Astute signing. Will play plenty of first grade. How much will depend on how Anasta and Heighington are used.
Bodene Thompson I haven't seen a lot of. A back-rower that fills in the centers sometimes I believe. If he performs I dare say we will see a fair bit of him.
Iosefa allows depth for Farah. A hooker for a hooker.

I thought Humble and Fulton did fine backing up for Farah. Politoni looks set to take over the reins when Farah moves on, but that wont be for another 4 years or so. We need to find something to do with him in the meantime, can't imagine where else he would fit in. Maybe in the second row, but he's a dead-set hooker.

Pettybourne is a good buy. But i'd drop the other two and sign T-rex. Can you believe the guy's only 23?

Utai, Lote, Ellis, Heighno and Fulton could all end up going next year.

What are you talking about? Ellis is already confirmed to be leaving at the end of the year. Utai, Lote and Moltzen are all off contract. To the best of my knowledge none have been re-signed, and with this latest batch of signings, I think it further suggests they may be told to look elsewhere.

Heighno may be allowed to look elsewhere, but I doubt he'll go before his contract ends. Same with Fulton. I think both are contracted until the end of 2013 which is when we'll see some of the NYC players from this year step up to FG.

I think what is most interesting about these four signings, apart from them being quite shrewd is that apart from the replacement hooker, NOBODY on here knew about them - No rumblings and musings.

Looks like the mole might have been shut down…

Also, ditch Buhrer, bench Hayne and put Beau on the wing. And Rowdy over Jennings. Fat chance of any of that happening though.

I know its off topic, but just quietly, Hayne played his best game all year last night. I can't stand his attitude, but everytime he had the ball he looked dangerous.

And after watching that game last night, theres no way in hell Beau is up to that level. Good club players don't automatically mean good Origin players

anyway back to topic

It's happened before UD… That's not to say that some people on this forum don't give good information - clearly some are well linked or have good sources. Generally they're the ones who don't big note themselves and are careful in what and how they say it. In the past there have been some massive blow-hards who almost demanded adulation from the forum masses for their constant stream of "exclusives". I seem to remember one now departed member who banged on about their knowledge of events like Lote signing with the club and then totally missed things like the Wade McKinnon signing (Mark I)...
