Hi Guys - can someone confirm that Liam Fulton is STAYING with the Tigers in 2012 and beyond? I have read in two separate media outlets over the weekend that he is leaving - one didn't say where to and the other said Sharks - surely they are mixing him and the other nude nut Gibbsy up - ?????

excellent - i thought so - shouldn't have worried and remembered about the quality of journalist around at the moment!!

A month or two ago I would have been happy to see him leave, but he has lifted a few gears of late. He is in great form.

He has been excellent of late and is great to have around when the bigger boys are tiring but i think his size is an issue.

I think he's seeing out his contract here with the tigers as the sharks weren't keen on him & Gibbs as a package deal. I'm happy to have him but i'd like to have the option of him off the bench with a bigger pack starting.

I hope he keeps his recent performances up and really throws down the gauntlet to some of the bigger boys to take his spot away for next year.

Fulton is a very good footballer, we really missed him in 06 with a shoulder injury & we missed him big time in 09 when he went to England for a year to help us out with our salary cap problem. After saying that he is here for another 3 years.

Said it before I think Liam Fulton is an instinctive rugby league player. He knows were to be in both defence and attack. His defence is amongst the best in the NRL, many times I see a gap open up in our defensive line and usually the guy that plugs the gap and makes the tackle that must be made is Liam. You can't teach the skills he has. I would like him to be a little bigger but I would not want him to leave the club.

I am glad he is staying.

His defence and workrate is worth two players at present, really glad he is staying put. will miss gibbs all the same wish we could keep him.

He is at career best form at the moment
Stepped up when Dywer was injured
Great ball runner and good defender

He should see out his current contract with the Tigers. After that, well that's for another topic.

Not happy with Fulton Willow ??
In my opinion he is in career best form and if he kept this up over the next few seasons I would be offerring him a lifetime deal Show him the loyalty he deserves

He has been in very good form since he retruned from injury. Whilst he is a relatively small forward he is playing well above his weight and is having a real go to the benefit of the team. His defence has been great and he chimes in well in attack particularly close to the line. It is a display of a bloke with plenty of character.

I'm happy with him Happy, it's more a question of whether the Tigers will re-sign him in a couple of years time given the current trend toward promoting the junior talent coming through.

Definitely something of a 'cult' player.

If I were to summarise; there is a fairly small group who have always been great fans and to whom his current great form comes as nothing of a surprise. I count myself amongst such visionaries.

Then there are the masses who break roughly 80/20:

The 80s - he is too small so therefore he is no good and
The 20s - these punters are a reflection of his last game and if it was good, they sing his praises, and if it was not they want to ship him out.

I suppose most players suffer from much the same critical aclaim (or otherwise) but it has always puzzled me why so many seem to miss what Fults brings to the team.
