Why did we let this bloke go? Awesome defender. There are a few others that should have gone before him.

Was just thinking the exact same thing. Was the heart and soul of our club.

Considering how thin we are in the front row, and the fact we haven't looked to add any depth there for next year, it rates as a pretty poor decison. Losing Fifita was just as bad. We're certainly reaping the benefits of retaining Groat

Worst decision in the history of the West's Tigers. :crazy :crazy :crazy

What makes it worse is that he NEVER wanted to leave :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Go Gibbsey love your work

I honestly wasn't sure if it was a good call or bad. I admit I liked the idea of Blair coming and I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt at the moment. If I'm being fair I expected more from him.

But watching Bryce this year it was mistake to let him go. Definatley

Gibbs and Fiffita ,made way so that Woods and Groat could be signed long term

Fiffita was not a big loss , Gibbs was

If we could have lost Fiffita and Groat , and kept Gibbs and Woods ,we would be in the top 2 right now ….

\
But I have feeling that Groat is on a lot less than Gibbs would have been , and that the numbers would Have stacked up

We keep Gibbs and Woods is playing 20 odd minutes a game and not developing at all.

It sucked losing Bryce but I am ok with it

you think gibbs would be starting over the form prop in the comp? id have gibbs and woods as the starting props, wish we had him back, him and fulton are the 2 most underrated defenders in the nrl

I thought this thread might of been on young Gibb who played for Brisbane

Gladstone boy who Happy has been watching for a while Played NYC for Penrith and NSW Cup for Penrith feeder side

Might have a future in NRL

I wonder who most of you would pick if given a choice between Woods and Gibbs

If Gibbs was still here Woods would not have been given the responsibility, minutes and chance to be the in form prop of the competition. That is the point I am making

It couldve been worked so he did…they wouldve made a nicely balanced starting pair, Gibbos defence and Woods offence...Kilo coming on mid half to offer some impact with bell the tight defensive 2nd change.
Oh well

What Smeg is trying to say and it's something I agree with is that with the responsibilities that have been put on Woods' shoulders since Gibbs' departure, it's brought Woods out of his shell and the player we know as Aaron Woods has now emerged. Seems like Tim took a gamble on Woods thinking that it's better to have a high standard prop for the next 10 years or 2 more years. Im thinking Tim made the right choice and comfortable with it.
