Goals you've set yourself.

Getting away from the negativity and other dross that has infected this forum due to the poor on field performances, I thought I'd start a thread to try and inject a bit of positivity.

What goals have you set for yourself in life? I'm not talking the staple owning a house, car and 2.5 kids. Have you set yourself some more obscure goals in life? Have you already achieved them?

Mine probably isn't that exciting, but I've set myself a challenge to learn three foreign languages (Spanish, German and French,) in 5 years. I've currently learned about 50% of the Spanish vocabulary and I've started learning German to maintain the interest.

I'd like to have a career shift later in life to do something completely different to what I'm doing now and languages have always fascinated me. It's also easier to get an insight into another culture when you understand the vernacular.

I would like to hear some of yours. Do you want to visit Antarctica, master an instrument, get a double degree?

To convince Cultured Bogan that the USA is not the root of all evil.  .No in all seriousness I would like to master the cooking of Italian and Thai dishes.

I was taught to play classical piano when I was aged between 10 and 14 years old. Due to a number of personal family reasons I left school at 15 and began full time work. I also began part time study which eventually took me to a university degree. Needless to say I did not have any time to study piano during this period and subsequently had very little to do with the piano until my recent retirement from work. I have now gone back to playing piano and to my surprise have been able to continue from where I left off. My goal is to continue enjoying playing piano.

Had intended to work on a formula 1 race car team before I retire.
Now currently at the age of 50, I have not done this so I have a slight feeling of not achieving.
Although as a decent compromise, I was lucky enough to be on pit crew at Bathurst in 1985, & 1987.
Also was the auto electrician for Mitsubishi Ralliart, Australian Rally Team from 1990 until 2004.
Had a very enjoyable time.

Still have burning desire to help/work on a Formula 1 team.

I am going to try and stay awake until the end of Friday nights game. Based on the past few rounds it will be very hard to keep the yawning at bay until halftime, but I will try my best.

Always wanted to work on an F1 car (I have none of the skills required, though i could explain how an ICE works in theory, working on one is completely beyond me).

What exactly does an auto electrician do on a rally car?

As for personal ones.

Got frustrated with living in Sydney and after watching friends get jobs in NYC and London. Made myself a commitment to get a job o/seas. Am now in Singapore, and am loving it.

Would also like to permanently retire to Chiang Mai or Bangkok and still earn my singaporean salary.

Want to visit every ancient capital city (Damascus, Memphis, Carthage etc).

For my 60th I want to head back over to Europe and cycle some of 'giants' of the Alps/Dolomites such as the Stelvio (from both sides), the Gavia, Mortarolo, Alpe Duez and others.
Rode a few of them a couple of years ago and had an absolute ball.
Here's to good health!!
