Goodbye Benji! Goodbye Farah!

As much as I am a fan of his, I don't think Robbie has what it takes to be a captain and have been thinking that most of the year. Today simply confirmed it. A good captain leads by example, fires the team up when they need it and is not short of words or afraid to use them when the team deserves it standing behind the posts. None of that was there today, nor any of the games I have seen when we are under pump.
Imagine the serve Noel Kelly would have given this team today, had he been playing in this era. That is a real captain and God knows we need one right now.

Tiger your obviously a Benji hater. He was not terrible in the test match. Imo he was the best half on the field.

Now today he was poor and he has been poor for the last month for us but your comments are so far out of whack with reality I think you need to have a little rest.

You're wrong i'm not a Benji hater highly critical defiantly and have been for a while and with very good reason. You see i see past all the frills and see the very average player that he is and i feel alot more tigers fans are starting to see the same thing lately. Do what i said Tiger05 if you have a copy of the game sit down with a pen and write down everything Benji did, then post it on here.
I don't listen to or believe hype i believe my own eyes. You can think what you like but i'll keep judging by what i see and for the most part it's pathetic with the occasional flash of brilliance, to me that doesn't make a superstar or even a good rugby league player.

I wouldn't be dropping Benji or Robbie because there is no one in the lower grades who is playing better than them at the moment. Taumata is similar to Benji but has more mistakes in him, Corby and Carr are going well for Wests and Balmain but I don't know whether they would go better than Robbie in FG.

Once again, apart from the complete lack of intensity today, the team failed to hold the ball 24 from 37 completed sets. That's 64% from 44% possession. They were never a chance with those two stats, and the forwards were belted of course which gave them no platform whatsoever.

I do agree though that Farah and Marshall need to take a good look at themselves, and start to take a bit of responsibility out there. For the coin these two are on, we deserve better.

It is not Robbie or Benji's fault. They felt defeated before they even ran on. They knew they were going to be up against it today. Wests Tigers dont have the forward grunt due to The Fonz's selections, recruitment and coaching.

The Fonz is ineffective in the market for forwards and that puts great pressure on our blokes that are tasked to go forward.

Tim 'The Fonz' Sheens is a disgrace.

By not rewarding lower grade players with 1st grade berths this year, he again has cemented the feeling in the 1st grade players minds thet they will not be dropped. Performances like today were disgusting.

The Fonz is an absolute disgrace.

If we gave players berths on merit we would not be in this predicament. The 1st grade players would be busting a gut to perform. Because the lower graders would legitimately be breathing down their necks. The Fonz's recruitment is a disgrace. The non retention of Gallant was a disgrace.

I hate the Fonz with a passion. He is my Nemises in life.

He has an inept capability in bringing out the best in players. He never promotes the blokes busting a gut in the lower grades so the 1st grade never has pressure on them.

The players must be sick of him, surely.

He should have blooded our quality lower graders by now. He is leaving it too late. What type of fool goes into a game with a back on the bench against the biggest pack of forwards in Rugby league.

Steve Folkes must be promoted to 1st grade coach immediately and that incompetant Fool Sheens be retired forcefully so he can concentrate on his Australian duties and have those poor buggers cop what he dishes out.

He should do the honourable thing and bow out of our club. He is a disgrace.

I can see where Kul is coming from and with the exception of that Tuiaki banner years ago I've generally agreed with most of what has been said. Farah for the most part should actually get back to basics like he spoke of a couple of weeks back, he really did play more this way three years ago when in career best form….back when he got us some speed out of dummy half and made about 40 tackles a game and chipped in with the occasional dart. Benji HAS to start playing the percentages and concentrating on doing these well. I'm not convinced either are purely selfish players though, they just both need a rocket and maybe the result this week could actually be a good thing over a longer period, if today's game doesn't make the side including coaching staff take a good hard look nothing will.

You should do it as well when his forwards are going forward (which is rare)
Why dont you try that and come back to us with your results?
Marshalls never played under another coach, many of them havent…they do the same ol shit at training week in week out...the coach has clearly run out of options, he had a chance today at half time and he couldnt inspire anything out of them, they got WORSE....a new mentor for them all would be the biggest shot in the arm for all of them in their entire careers

exactly, why is this so hard to understand? we would be far better off dumping the coaching staff first and seeing how our current squad performs under a new coach.

And selfish. His last play the first time we were on their line on the last was selfish. All this talk about building pressure, grinding our wins. Out the window, go yourself.
He doesn't talk or inspire. Early in the second half behind the posts after the rabbits second try he was quite. He should have been ripping in. He gives up too easily. Give it to one of the two guys who put in 110% each and every week.

If i had a recorder i would, maybe someone with a copy of the Roosters game could do it, where our forwards actually laid a platform.

Heighnington would be my choice. He is always working hard and talking out there, and while he's not the flashiest player going around, the rest of the team would do well to put in as much effort as he is.

How true, and what I believe is the root of all our problems. On paper, we have a decent side, by they have run out of ideas. We have one attacking play which the opposition worked out three weeks ago. Farah, to the half, behind the forwards to Marshall, on to Lawrence or kick behind the line. Gould highlighted it weeks ago. Every team has worked it out.
The players need a new coach with new ideas for their own, and the teams development.
They didn't play like a team today, they didn't put in for each other. Too many selfish plays all round, in attack and defence.
I get a real sense that all is not well inside the club at the moment. Lawrence and Ayshford seem dijected. Ellis and Hieghno seem to put in without support. The opposition puts a kick in the air and we seem to look around hoping the other guy will commit. They don't play like a team anymore.
Please go Sheens, please please please. and take Royce with you. 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray: 😛ray:

Mate the team around them is fine. We have quality across the park. But these two guys are too interested in their own selfish interests to play as a team with the team.

Robbie and Benji are tremendous talents and deserve the cash that they are on. But for weeks now it has been obvious that they have lost their way. If today's flogging doesn't give them a mighty slap in the face then hopefully a week in reserve grade will, otherwise the players around them will start to question their integrity as leaders.

You've got this right, drop both them to state cup. Farah has been poor but i feel like picking on marshall.

Why are we paying someone $400k + to pass the ball left and right and put a crappy kick in. S**t we could get someone for $55k to do that.

Either - Drop marshall farah to state cup
- move marshall to CENTRE (crouching_tigers idea) to force him to take on the line..

Stop been a pansy ass benji and take the line on.

Farah is selfish, I have heard from a good source that he should not be playing as he is injured he is only playing for state of orgin spot . He is not a leader of people , he is too arrogant for leadership

I agree the best leaders are not always flashy, just respected by their team mates for their work ethic, inspiration and leading by example e.g. Price and W.Pearce. Farah is too arrogant for mine if you have even spoken to him you pick that up in 10 sec. He is only Capt because he tied it up with contract negotiations

As bad a coach as Sheens is he is not stupid enough to drop Marshall or Farah over a couple of average matches. As he stated in his confrence it is almost impossible to have your playmakers performing when your forwards are getting dominated. As for Farah playing injured I don't see how people can see this as a selfish act. The man is playing through the pain of an injury to try and win football games for his team. Anyone who thinks Benji and Robbie should be dropped has no idea what they are talking about. It will only take some brilliance from Benji and a good performance from Robbie next Friday night to shut everyone up.

I would ordinarily agree with you BBT, but when your hooker has shone and carried a team who has hidden behind a beaten forward pack for the last four years, the "our forwards were dominated" excuse is a little redundant.

Benji is a freakish talent, but he's just not consistent.

As I said previously, we played like we did against Parra in Rd 3, we'll be world beaters this year.

did u watch the roosters game (previous game to this) were we deadset dominated them for 75minutes. Farah and Marshall came up with diddly squat.. there both on 5 year contracts sitting back drinking martini's.

They need to know they need to perform to get picked.

One or two games u might say ok.. it is 4-5 games now both have failed to offer anything.

I'd love nothing more then to eat these words next friday, and if on the rare case i do it will taste ever so sweet cos it would mean we finally won a game.
