Thought the best player on the field was Jahrome Hughes myself until he got rorted by being sent to the bin. Unlucky.

The play where Paps jumped from the field of play and knocked the ball back in, he deserved it on that play alone.

What a player

Lol @ the salt from panthers fans on social media about refs. Not sure you have a leg to stand on being down 26-0 at one stage?

Nine errors and 60% completion rate in the first half, but nah the refs were the reason why they were down 22-0.

One of my mates was moaning about it, and I pointed that out to which he carried on about the penalty try and I said that by that logic, I can pin basically any loss this year that Wests had to the referees because there was bound to be a poor call or two in every game.

I’m pretty sure I read panthers had 60% of the ball in the 1st half aswell

The masses can’t cop Melbourne being too good so they go to referee bashing ?

Yes, deep down in their little hearts - they know they were not good enough, in all aspects of the game.

I was out at the game and found it hilarious how the Penrith fans turned on the ref once the margin blew out. They couldn’t see that it was the Penrith making mistakes that cost them.

I felt that Melbournes defense when Penrith were attacking their line early in the game rattled the Panthers and they weren’t sure how to respond

The wet weather was always going to peg Penrith back.

I really think the week off did a number on them. They didn't look even remotely the same side as they had been all year last week against an equally poor Souths as well and just barely scraped it home.

I thought NAS was one of the best last night. Absolutely dominated the middle of the field, one of my favourite players.

Penrith struggle to score inside the 20. They’ve won games off good kicking and high possession counts whenever possession evens up they struggled. Melbourne new this and countered it excellent as expected really made sure Luai and Cleary were quiet and Penrith made a lot of errors too. Inexperience and nerves got the better of them

I said to my mates at that time he'd just earned himself the ccm

He ran over 200m, had an important hand in the first try, scored the one after half time to kick them away, saved that penalty kick from touch and was safe at the back. Also looked good whenever he hit the line.

I agree there wasn't much in the way of standouts but I think he was a good choice. I would have thrown up in my mouth had Cam won it.

Glad the storm won....thank god misery has been piled upon cleary.....and my wife has the dirst about my immaturity in regards to hating cleary for what he did to our club....

BUT

I do feel for that Naden kid....he was outstanding for them for a long period of time and deserved his spot in the final....only to have gaol bait picked over him and to give away the penalty try was the icing on the cake..... great call there ivan the terrible!!! 🙂

If we signed Naden, I would be happy

According to Phil Gould the pamfers won the second half, and if only grand finals went for 82 minutes rather than 80 then they probably, maybe, almost would have won

Wasn't around to comment over the weekend but how sweet it is.

Ivan Cleary got his karma.

Nathan sooked.

Gould got called out for his pathetic commentary.

Johns did himself no favours crawling up Gould's rear end.

Cam Smith won another one.

The video ref showed himself to be corrupt.

The good guys got the win.

Happy days!

What are the video ref calls everyone is upset about and calling corrupt?

Excuse my ignorance was at the ground so only saw on the big screen and nothing jumped out at me as blatantly wrong.

the panthers first try when there was a clear obstruction but they let play on....

the penalty try (which was correct)

kikau knock on

cam smith knock on.....

went both ways

His bomb which Edwards dropped and the restart he achieved demonstrated a very good tactical understanding. He has far more in his game than being lightning quick.

Okay. I think the Panthers try was okay as he kicked before he went behind the player but haven’t seen a replay.

The penalty try was correct - everyone was complaining when Slater use to try and do that so that made the rule very clear

Not sure which Kikau knock on. He seemed to make a few errors

The Cam Smith one that led to the try was 50/50 and could have gone either way. Out I thought the call was fair enough.

Anyway that’s Rugby League always room to debate calls

kikau looked like he was trying to pass and it hit a storm player. they claimed a panthers knock on. He made a lot of mistakes thank god.

exactly....calls went both ways all night....just salty penrith fans
