If you had nothing to gain from it, would you give 100%? It's a fair call that he was useless this season but the Fraud couldn't compete for points and that would explain why alot of their players didn't give it their all. TBH I can't see him staying out the contract, but he wouldn't survive overseas either.
Nothing to gain from it? Wasn't he being paid massive dollars to play rugby league? I don't gain much from my job but I do the best I can because they pay me to. You think the blokes playing Japanese rugby really care if Mitsubishi Marauders win the league?
Fair call Yoss, he only needs to turn up every week to justify his pay cheque though. He's achieved everything in the game at such a young age, and he's a guarantee for the QLD and Australian team, not playing for points during the year wouldn't motivate you as much as it should because the challenge isn't there.
Not arguing with you, money obviously is a factor (especially for Inglis after pulling this stunt,) that's just my take on the situation. No matter what you're earning, most of us would still find it hard to find the motivation to put in a good performance when there's no challenge.
