Greg Inglis Super Thread!

Poor Beau Champion…

Why do you say that?

Best has gone to Cronulla… Dylan Farrell won't get a start unless Inglis/Champion are injured.

1\. Wesser
2\. Merrit
3\. Inglis
4\. Champion
5\. Talanoa

Pretty formidable centre pairing, craps on Cooper/Gasnier IMO.

I think Farrell will secure that right centre spot from round 1\. He is a superstar in the making and could well be a stand out for Rookie of the Year… I also wouldnt be suprised if Inglis was signed to play Fullback...

Either way, they have a pretty handy backline... all they need is some halves!

Too bad Inglis is 150kg now, back when he first started he would've been a gun fullback, he just had Slater there ahead of him. He's probably too fat (and lazy now) to play there next year.

Imagine if we'd signed him from under Brisbanes nose….some different tunes would be sung im sure, the hypocrisy here's astounding

Not from me Ink…...I'd be prepared to lose two up and comers for him. Some of you people are kidding yourselves, if he was in our backline we would be favourite for 2011.

I still think he's a world beater (probably me being a parochial QLD'er) but despite that, I wouldn't give away lawrence or ayshford for him. As far as I'm concerned they both still have their best yet to come. And I wouldn't like to see anyone forced out of last years squad when Inglis had agreed to terms with the Broncos already, that would be aassive kick in the teeth.

I would not be happy if we acted unethically as Souths and Inglis himself have done in this case!

I don't believe he is worth the asking price - and don't believe he would be a good fit within the culture of our club!

He is a brilliant athlete and footballer - but the price overall for such a high maintenance prima donna given his often minimal contributions is way over the odds!!

One player cannot totally make a team - but one wrong player can destroy an otherwise good team!!

I also don't want Team Mundine anywhere near Concord!

The bookies had Souths at $9 before this signing and us at $11 - as if they have a fricking clue!!!!

I in no way have a problem expressing my opinion that i would not want GI at the Tigers, the same went for SBW etc etc. Yes ok he is a great player on his day but just think how the club and team ethic would change if he were here. If anyone says that we would suddenly become more successful with his arrival your kidding yourselves.

Team harmony is such a hard thing to create and the Tigers have it in spades at the moment. It's not coincidence that the Storm chose him to leave rather than any of the other stars they have.

Good luck to the the Bunnies let them believe that they have their name on the trophy next year already , i seem to remember a similar feeling from them last season when they said they would smash everyone with their massive forwards..mmmm. It's a long season and he has a lot of weight to lose and to settle in a new town,i am guessing without his girlfriend…i'll give him 6 months before he buggers off.

I think Merrit will be going to fullback, Farrel on the wing and Wesser out of the team or maybe a bench spot for him.

Anyways, I dont think Inglis can make a huge differece to that team. As someone said, they need halves and their back 5 are pretty alright I guess.

As far as I'm concerned, I am a firm believer that you MUST have two good centres who read the game well and know how to set their wingers up and that's the reason Lawrence is my fav. player. So I personally think Inglis could make a huge difference to that team if someone as talented as Farrel was on his outside.

Also, I'm pretty scared of the combo of Luke, Burgess and Inglis.

We're all assuming Inglis sees out the 3 years. The last time a Mundine linked NRL player signed a long contract he was in France not long after. Anyway Inglis would want to play better than he did this year - he was rubbish for most of the season.

If you had nothing to gain from it, would you give 100%? It's a fair call that he was useless this season but the Fraud couldn't compete for points and that would explain why alot of their players didn't give it their all. TBH I can't see him staying out the contract, but he wouldn't survive overseas either.

Nothing to gain from it? Wasn't he being paid massive dollars to play rugby league? I don't gain much from my job but I do the best I can because they pay me to. You think the blokes playing Japanese rugby really care if Mitsubishi Marauders win the league?

Fair call Yoss, he only needs to turn up every week to justify his pay cheque though. He's achieved everything in the game at such a young age, and he's a guarantee for the QLD and Australian team, not playing for points during the year wouldn't motivate you as much as it should because the challenge isn't there.

Not arguing with you, money obviously is a factor (especially for Inglis after pulling this stunt,) that's just my take on the situation. No matter what you're earning, most of us would still find it hard to find the motivation to put in a good performance when there's no challenge.

Yeah fair enough - I agree it is easier to motivate yourself if you've got the finals to play for. Although the comparison between Inglis' efforts and people like Smith, Cronk, and even Slater what was pretty obvious to me.

A whorebag is a whorebag - no matter what you pay it or how you pretend to love it!!

Good luck to Souths - I feel they may need it!

Did souths sign Greg Inglis or Owen Cragie???? Just saw him at souths training on fox sports and good to see he still doesnt mind the pies!
