Half time scores in 2011

It has occurred to me that we have led at half time only about 2-3 times all season. We led Souths in round 5 and Canberra in round 8, I think. Do any of you have accurate figures on this?

It's a miracle we are in the 8 with such a half time record. Wake up in the first 40 minutes Tigers!

According to fox sports during the Cowboys game they said we had led 4 games at half time Don't know which ones but I'm guessing they have their facts right

Thanks HT, it's a shocking record. We were even down to the Roosters.

I believe the reason for this could be tactics.
Second half is where the game is decided, but yes, in saying that you need to stay in the game in the first half . But one other thing i've noticed is that at the start of the game Lui is the main playmaker, with farah and benji chimminey in and offering help, but lui is in charge. He gets the ball when he calls for it and he calls the shots. . Then at the end of the game benji is in charge. With farah constantly controlling the tempo and position of play. This could coralate to the amount of points being scored and at what times. Sheens knows when he wants the team to be knuckling down and getting repeat sets and playing some footy and when he wants them attacking and thats why he COULD of employed these tactics.
I know this is a bit far fetched, but its just a thought.

I see what you mean. As you say, you do need to be in the game at half-time and twice we were so far behind that we didn't catch up - vs St George the first time we played them, and Souths the second time.

My theory is that we play best when we are desperate in the last 20 minutes.

Yep, agree.. I noticed that their game plan changed against the cowboys.. They started to play a more 'conventional' style of play in the 1st half with Lui directing the play a fair bit more and the amount of 'flair' limited.. But once the 2nd half started, benji has pretty well pushed Lui out and has taken charge.. I think the mindset/game plan is to grind out 1st half, and then unleash after the break.. Whatever it is, it's working so keep going with it.. GO TIGERS!!!

It's not just being down at half time, I noticed we have been losing at some stage in almost every game this year! When we thrashed Souths and Raiders (2nd time) they scored first. We must have good composure to always come back.

last night was the first time in ages i actually got a bit comfy on the couch watching the boys
every other game this year having to come from behind the anxiety runs high…i rekon its all comming
