I don't think he quite has 80 minutes in him yet, not consistently anyway. If Liddle can get back on the park, it makes sense to give him a run off the bench for 20 minutes to ease him back into FG and give Grant a spell. Make no mistake, Liddle when fit is also quite a handy 9 and with his speed, will also give us an edge through the middle.

Injuries aside, Liddle is a very good footballer. Really hope he enjoys an injury free run

Liddle was one of the highest rated juniors around. Injury has stalled his career but he is still young and has plenty of time to get going.

Bringing him on with 15-20 mins left against tired forwards would be good. Assuming Grant is leaving he will be our hooker next season so give him some game time

It makes more sense than having a halfback on the bench

I wonder if they plan on giving Simpkin a go before liddle?

I wouldnt think so he is only 18 i believe.Liddle is a good hooker and deserves first shot when fully fit

Not that I think it mattered (for us) anyway but caught a bit of Brandon Smith's interview on Triple M. Said he's content playing in any position to cater to the needs of the team.

I caught that too, I think that was a very diplomatic answer

Might sound diplomatic but I think it's probably also realistic. Most players would prefer to have a choice of team they play for than what position they play.

I'm not sure, because he also said if I am here I'd like to play hooker but would play anywhere. The hosts even said that he sounded like he was trying to be diplomatic.

Was thinking that we could maybe sign Cameron Smith just for next year than we will have Liddle and Sympkim ready for 2022 just mainly want a good goal kicker and he's one of the best

Wouldn't that upset the forum if Camo signed for WT.

he has to play 80 mins
billy walters is good but cant carry him on the bench

Disagree I think Walters brings good energy, can cover the backs and Grant needs a rest. Grant is the one who got stepped when Hipgrave scored, I think he was replaced soon afterwards because he was blowing. Fair enough he'd given 60 hard minutes and he was brought back on at the end?

Walters was playing in the forwards in second half

I have seen both Simpkins and Harry Grant and at the same age Simpkin is the better prospect. Better running game and passing game is close. Grant has been learning in the Storm System and is three years further in his progression. He will be ready to dominate first grade in 2022. If we can get Harry for a one year extension and it benefits both the Storm and us it’s a big win.

There’s no guarantees with young players but his biggest issue will be physicality Harry has built up and solid as an rock.

In the meantime we have Liddle and he will be so good Simpkins won't get a turn.

Nice position to be in.

It is. I’d take Harry any day over both of them as he’s proven he’s world class the other two are still potential which more often than not tends to be not fulfilled

I love Harry but I think instead of Brooks or some questionBle 4th bench spot we should start playing viable 9s off the bench for experience, otherwise next year they will have none and Maguire won't know if he needs to buy a 9 desperately

We only have Woolies brown paper bags - they are not big enough.

Harry is proven Liddle injury prone and simpkin could be great. Hope we keep Harry and build around him

I wouldn't count on it.
